C'mon man... no fair on Hide... Cathy Millen would crush just about all the guys in this forum at her best! She was a powerlifting phenomenon!!!!

Yeah but 260 at 85 kg is not freaky.

 well I wouldn't be complaining having it as a PB

Yeah Stan is one strong mofo... stink calves though ha ha ha just thought I would stick with the forums general theme of finding fault.

Johnnie Jackson? Ben White?

I would also say the Rhino, that team super training vid was crack up!

As for the whole Hide thing, for a 21yr old BBer who didnt do any PLing training that isn't a bad effort, was done in training too. Sure its not freaky in PLing terms but still good for someone who trains like a BBer

These guys are actual BBer's

Yeah Efferding is a pro card but his physique sucks!

Pete, Pete, Pete. Efferding has a fantastic physique. Not a great pro-bodybuilder I agree. He stacks up fairly well with some of the local pros.

Top bodybuilders are strong bro. I reckon most top pros would be able to bench 200 kg at least and deadlift 300 kg. They probably don't do singles or maybe not even these lifts but they are big strong boys.

There maybe other views of course. :)

That & looking at his video on MD he seems to have more $$$ & toys than all the local Pros combined! :pfft:  He's doing something right!

What he said

The top bodybuilders are big. If you big you strong. You dont get to 130 ripped kgs lifting 1kg dbs.

Yup!

Of course bro, he DL'd that when he was natty and for an amatuer that is impressive, that'd sorta be like saying Cathy Millen would not have looked like Hide at 85kgs, all subjective and dependant on goals.

Think he benches around 5-6PPS for reps like most pro's, and of course I agree top pro's aren't weak! Ronnie Tbar rowing 600lbs for 10reps  and I remember your mate saying Dennis James was benching 220 on the incline for reps

Like you said, strength always precedes size- people get stronger quicker than they get bigger

^ Loyal to the bitter end buddy! Good for you. I love watching the pros train. They train bloody heavy. I don't know if people realise how strong they actually are. Many could have been world class powerlifters if they had wanted to go down that road.

:pfft: Haha he`s one of my favourite BBers so have to back him up!

Yeah bro, I've downloaded a few clips of Branch Warren on to my ipod, no surprise why he's one of your faves, insane intensity and throws around big numbers like theres no tomorrow!! The pro's are a different breed when it comes to training thats for sure, they seem to hit that high intensity each time they train  Maybe you could've been a pro BBer mate :pfft:

Haha I thought someone wouldn't like this

As you've pointed out before, PLers quads aren't the best, well Stans legs suck from every angle! If his legs were better then his physique would be a lot better. I do admire that his waist hasn't gotten huge though even with his training

I'm surprised someone hasn't had a go at me about my local pros comment.

His legs are lacking. I know he is working hard with Flex Wheeler to bring up his weak points. I agree with Nate, his self marketing is impressive. And he plays on the fact that he is the worlds strongest pro bodybuilder.

Stan's physique is alright, I mean in a bodybuilding sense Johnnie Jackson has crap legs too ha ha ha ha but they are both competitive and you can't fault the guy on his conditioning. Oh and while he does promote himself very well he is also a very successful business man, his money comes from his businesses, ain't no way he's living that large from bodybuilding or powerlifting.

I don't think anyone would even bother to comment about the local pros thing Dr.. mostly just cos it's more than true.

He said pro's bro

Moe, Darryn Onekawa, Grant, Mike K, Big Kiwi and Mike D are the current active NZ iFBB pros.

I dunno, there at least a couple of pairs of legs in that list that are top quality, maybe not elite but not worth hassling....

I think Mike D gave his card back. :)

* 1991, Training with and watching 20yr old Rodney Tupouniua RAW squat (no suit/no knee wraps and only had a belt) : 60x20, 80x20, 100x20, 120x20, 140x20, 160x20, 180x20, 200x20, 220x20, 240x10...stop and puke and do another 240x10 to finish his 20reps. All reps ATG, powerlifting depth

Rodney is an absolute fuckin freak of nature!!After 22 years of working in gyms he is definately the most geniticaly gifted person I have ever seen (his uncle Alfred Ofa was amazing to) I used to train with him in the late 80s at world gym/onehunga fitness centre. Ive posted on here before how after joining the gym at 15 he was one of the strogest guys in the gym after only a few months of training.Ive witnessed him perform so many freakish lifts I wouldnt know where to start, i remember him doing sets of 12 reps of barbell curls with 100kg with perfect form, absolutley no body sway, and just doing them for set after set after set. And performing 20 rep squats with 180kg for set after set with no effort at all, with the last rep being as easy as the first.Ive seen him deadlift 300 with just a belt weighing 97kg. And as tonka says he was a natural lifter.

He was deeply religous and always used to say to me "that it was easy to lift these weights as Jesus was helping him".And he always had a story for me about some "really cool thing Jesus had done".

Other freakish lifts ive seen that come to mind are Vic Richards performing dumbbell flys with 70kg dbls with perfect from, Frank boulgaris doing sets of full range pull ups with 100kg (chin over the bar) round his wasit.
