Sumo deadlifts and squats?

I'm curious if anyone has any experience with sumo deadlifts helping to improve their squat? I feel my adductors (as well as flexibility but that's another issue  ) are the main limiting factor with my piss weak squat, and my sumo stance is just slightly wider than my squat stance and I definitely feel it in my adductors when performing the exercise. So my logic here is that switching to sumo deadlifts should help strengthen my adductors more, and hopefully carry over to helping increase my squat numbers as well. Has anyone else done this before, or have any insight?
