Sumo Deadlifts - Any good for Back training?

Due to an ongoing torn Glute problem, lower back pain and basically because my Conventional Deadlifts just aren't up to par with my other lifts I have decided to switch to Sumo Deadlifts. I have found this has taken all the stress off my lower back and I feel like Im going to be able to set new PB's fairly quickly as the movement feels alot stronger for me.

But I am a bodybuilder first and foremost and my back is my weakest bodypart. Im concerned that shying away from conventional deadlifts will leave my Back progress basically in the hands of assistance exercises (chinups, widegrip pulldowns, barbell rows etc).
