L-Glutamine recommendations?

Maximus

Recommended Posts

I'm amping up my training after the festive period and I need something more for recovery as my sport is very taxing on the body.

I have used L-Glutamine before and wondered if anyone had any recomendations on any particular brand or stack that they are using at the moment.

I'd just like to add, since the research for creatine has not been conclusive, it's not a supplement I'd spend money on unless you have a good amount of training experience with an immaculate diet, competitive, have used the "proven" supplements.

If your sport is so taxing, I'd try adding a nap during the day if you can afford the time.

Be honest with yourself, is your nutrition on point?

I'm certainly not a bodybuilder and don't train like one, but to be honest my diet is very clean. Basically I eat everything organic and if I can't see it coming out of the ground then I will not eat it. I don't drink alcohol that often and I'm in pretty decent shape all round.

I force myself to have a sleep for 30 minutes straight after work so that I have the energy for BJJ sessions in the evening. The conditioning of these sessions is brutal and I'm left exhausted and very sore afterwards. Anyone that has tried BJJ will tell you that in your first lesson you realise how bad your cardio actually is.

Strangely I can't sleep afterwards, I'm far to amped up for that.

If you train more than 3 times a week like this your body basically breaks down. I'm sore and bruised and my lungs are just shot.

I'm just looking for something to help with the recovery a little

My food intake is sweet. I drink plenty of water and basically live on a whole food organic diet so I can't do anymore than that. The only thing that I have at the moment that is not natural is Powerade. During rolling I'm dead after an hour or so. The sugar and carbs help me greatly. I can't eat food after BJJ, I can't breathe most of the time. If I try to eat, I physically can not force it down.

Scivation Xtend has L-Glut added in with the BCAAs, could be the best of both worlds for you if you don't mind the price (given you eat organically I don't think it'll be an issue  ) Could certainly get cheaper options and combine them if you have no issue with taste, might actually be decent added to Powerade or something?

Powerade helps me with that sick feeling! Eating afterwards aint a problem though....
