In regards to diet I could eat all the junk i the world as long as I was in a calorific deficit I wouldnt gain a thing

Not true TT

How so?

If we take what you say literally, most junk foods are either low in protein, high in sugar and fat (usually there terrible trans) (think biscuits, ice cream, chocolate etc) , or they have good protein but high bad fat (trans and overkill on saturated (even though saturated isn't as bad as it said)).

So, high insulin levels will increase carb uptake as fat blah blah blah

Stress hormones will decrease recovery (plus you are probably lacking in protein).

Now shit food that have good levels of protein will be high in calories which means to be in a deficit you'll probably only manage 2-3 meals a day

Hope this makes sense and you see where I'm going with it

Twinkie Diet Definitely worth the read, 2/3 of his daily intake came from junk food, he dropped bodyweight, dropped body fat, and improved his blood lipids.

So, high insulin levels will increase carb uptake as fat blah blah blah

But if you're in a deficit you have to make up the energy somewhere, so that fats just going to come out of storage very quickly, if it ever makes it there, to make up the difference.

I agree it's far from ideal, but calories are king when it comes to weight loss and body composition. I believe it's the long term health effects of such a diet constantly spiking high insulin etc which could eventually lead to some very negative effects, diabetes etc which just opens a whole new jar of worms.
