when should i take my protein shake?

hey i would just like one answer please

ive looked all around google

but i havent had a straight answer yet ,

i was just wandering if anyone could help

i am currently trying to gain or enhance my muscle

so should i take my protein shake after or before workout ?

and how much of a time difference ?

and would it be better taking it with water or milk ? (:

Depends on your training goals etc, mixing with water and milk will achieve diff. things, put simply, with water you will be ingesting less calories etc so its pretty handy if you're trying to lose weight (fat) and milk is great if your trying to put on some mass because of the added protein, fat etc.

General rule is to have a shake an hour or so before your workout and asap after your workout (preworkout and postworkout shakes)

I tend have 2-3 more throughout the day and one just before bed time so that there is some protein and nutrients in the system while sleeping :)

really there's no straight answer bro - everyone has their preference, theory, method etc re: shakes and frequency in taking them but I think everyone would agree that if you're training hard then you need to ingest enough good ish - particularly protein to help your muscles recover and grow. If you don't get enough protein from your meals then you can take a shake to get your protein. 'Eating' your protein (steak, chicken) would be the best but this can be quite difficult at times so 'drinking' your protein (shakes) is the next best alternative.
