I think he means when increasing weights

eg benching 60kg how much would the ave person increase too when they are comfortable? with this weight

I personally would increase by 10kgs and then drop down 5kgs if too hard after a few reps

Would you just increase this when you feel it's right or is there a rule of thumb when increasing weight? ie increasing bench wieght from 60kg to 70kg in however many weeks?? :? :?

Its all going to depend on your program. Like when I was doing Starting Strength and Bill Starr, I was increasing my weights by 2-5kg per week, doing 5reps, usually 2kilo on a press and 5 on the squat/deadlift

Now if im ramping a weight up over sets, again it will depend on the exercise, and also my goal for the session.

If you a fairly green, Id suggest 2kilo on a press or bb row and 5 on the squat/deadlift, I found that effective.

I think you should add weight whenever you can. For instance if im gonna do a 3 week cycle of box squats first week I do 140x1 next week I get up to 140 and it feels light and I smash 160x1 next week I feel strong but only get 162.5x1. Moral of the story you gotta autoregulate dont get caught into adding x amount of weight per week cos' eventually itll stop working. If you can add 20kg to the bar do it! Your not gonna die.

I concur!

our bodies don't really care how much we increase our weights by - our egos on the other hand may be looking for the big weight increases lol keep pushing yourself in the gym and if all things align re: nutrition, recovery etc then you should be able to move heavier weights :)
