Hi, Im new to this site and pretty new to the gym as well.

I'm 75kg, 183 cm, 19yrs.

I'm just looking for some advice as to what I should do in order to look like a guy from a mens health cover page haha, in terms of nutrition.

I will most likely be buying mutant mass; any opinions on flavour? (already tried cookies and cream - it was pretty good). When should I be drinking this?

I know that there are other supplements out there other than protein, such as creatine and testosterone.

I was looking at getting kre-alkalyn because it doesn't have any side effects - does anyone recomend it?

Also, I was looking at buying either superpump250 or jack3d. I've heard that Jack3d is better but ive also heard that you don't wanna be taking either of these products if your trying to gain size because, they slow down your metabolism or somthing. Is that true? What should I do?

What about other supplements such as testosterone or anything else? What should I be taking?

Oh and what should I be eating daily?

Cheers

hi

have a read through the articles on the resources tab first.

i wouldnt buy any supps until you have your diet sorted and working well. then look at just getting the basics

protein powder like whey and/or caesin (whey 1st tho)

carb powder like dextrose or maltodextrin

fish oil

multi vit

then later on you can add creatine and a pre-workout supp.

i prefer jacked. :)

basically for your diet you want min 5 meals per day. 6 is good and still possible to do easily. just takes consistency

protein, carbs and fats with each meal

lots of water,rest and sleep

more food.... more rest..... more sleep! :)

if your pretty new to the gym, i would suggest a basic 3 day full body workourt to do.

mon- full body

tues-off

wed-full body

thurs-off

fri-full body

sat and sun off.

have a look around the net and you'll find some great programs to do.

keep it consistant and work hard and you will get results :)

What Mike said, also be weary of mass gainers , you could end up looking like a mens health cover with love handles.

A lean 78Kg should get you close to a few Mens Health covers I have seen, lot of those guys looks quite a bit heavier than what they are due to symmetry and definition.

Cheers for the info mike. What will fish oil and multi vits do? Do you mean that I should have two different shakes? A whey one and a dextrose or maltodextrin? When should I take these?

Also, how long should I wait before adding creatine and a pre-workout supp?

Hennie, which protein powder do recomend? I'm looking for the fastest results but I don't want to end up with love handles lol

multi vit and fish oil for general health boost and well being

im no scientest :)

dextrose and maltodextrin and cheap carb powders to add into your post workout shake to replish your bodys glygogens stores

(correct me if im not quite right)

so ur set up would go like this:

meal 1: breakie

meal 2: pre-wo meal

pre-wo ie jacked

train

post-workout: whey and dextrose in water

meal3 complex carbs,high protein,good fats

meal 4 and 5 as meal3

meal6: ie just before bed. have caesin protein and milk as its slow diegeting and will feed your body while you sleep

thats very basic tho. you can also have a whey shake as soon as you wake up to. for breakie u would want rolled oats and eggs :) best way to go. also some fruits in there during the day and plenty of vege's. at least 2lts water every day and 8-9hrs sleep every night. some people get by on less. but 7-8hrs is preferred

definatly spend the time setting up your diet and you'll do great!

as for how long until u shud wait before adding in creatine... wait until u stop seeing results in your training and need a boost

same with the pre-wo supp.

as ur just starting out, id wait a good 3-4 months of training 3 days per week every week before looking at that.

hope this helps

as for which protein powder to buy....

there are sooooo many out there

dont worry about the mass gainer. just buy whey for now.

dextrose can be brought at supermarkets or binn inn. cheap as!

if u can afford it your could look at caesin too, or for now, just drink 500ml full fat milk before bed :)

u want loads of lean meat and fish too! so go shopping

good fats = avocado,almonds,walnuts,flax oil,evo oil.

you can make your own roast nut mix and protein bars too!

i have recipes :)

complex carbs= brown rice,whole grain breads,sweet pot,oats.

nut mix

get the following

walnuts,whole almonds,pumpkin seed.

all raw and unsalted. roast on 160 until done, cool. mix togther.

great for snacks during the day. i have little pottles i take around with me.

protein bar:

rolled oats

whey protein

caesin

as above nut mix

chia seed

water

peanut butter (100% natuaral PB) :)

flax oil

warm the peanut butter, then add everything else in and mix very well. add small amounts of water until the desired consistency is reached. ie doughy. DO NOT add too much water!! only a little and mix as you go

then press onto a large tray and set in the fridge. cut once cold into desired sizes. leave some in the fridge and freeze the rest.

i made a heap up with 4-5 cups oats,2-3 cups of each protein powder and 2 cups peanut butter, maybe 1/2c water. 8T chia seed.

worked out great! :)

or you can leave out the oats if u dont want carbs in there.

your pre-wo meal will be ur breakie

i have oats, milk and flax oil. then toast and poached eggs and a multi-vit. loads of water and a bannana. then i have jacked just before the gym

There is link here somewhere to a documentary On a guy who did exactly what you want 'look like that guy' on the cover of the magazines.it's a good watch and will put in perspective what it actually takes to achieve what you want. I'll try and find it for you later or someone might know where it is.

It's not an easy task though! Body building is an extreme discipline. Go for it, you'll be a changed person.

Hey fella I wont post anymore diet stuff up because the others are stearing you in the wright direction.

Just remember there is no such thing as fast results in this sport. Train hard, eat well and you will get the results without having to spend alot on supplements. I would recommend a good Whey protein to help out with getting in quality protein in, go to http://www.bodybuilding.co.nz/nutrawhey.html.

As far as all the other stuff goes save your money and concentrate on your food.

Cheers knock knock looks really interesting - downloading now.

Wow that product looks really good weener lad. Really affordable (which is what I want) and its got really good reviews. Just one question; what is the difference between whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate?

oats 1-1.5c,1cup milk (full fat) 1T flax oil

oats and milk into a bowl and microwave for 90secs. take out and add a bannan and flax oil. stir

yeah flax oil and nut mix into the bars. you can add whole linseed (flax seed) also. flax oil just 5-10T and the nut mix you can add 1-3 cups. whatever u feel really. your aiming for 50% carbs 30% protein and 20% fats.

I would aviod any pre training supps like Super 250 etc from what I have notice most pre training supps that are out there are very expensive you be better off buying some cheap coffie from New World or coutdown etc plus your wallet will thank you for it.Having coffie before you train gives you good buzz plus it gives you extra strengh as well.I would put in two or three tsp of coffie.
