Hey everyone-

I found this site because I'm looking for support & help !! I'm interested in toning up - in a major way. Although I'm a rather skinny girl, I definitely lack muscle and definition (my abs must be hiding). I love working out - running, cycling, etc, but I want to get into lifting. I'd also love to hear about some protein shakes that don't taste absolutely horrible!

To be honest - since my boyfriend has joined the military, all he does all day is work out! He's gotten in shape so quickly, & I'm afraid I'm falling way behind! It'd be nice to have support from people who know what they're doing or are also new like me to help spur me on! Sometimes I feel like he doesn't understand how difficult it can be because his job all day is to basically work out.

Anyway, please don't be a stranger!!

I've asked my (useless) bf to recommend what to do, but he's not very helpful when it comes to the gym. Guess he's too busy admiring his own muscles :(

I've tried everything in regards to diet.... it's gotta be the workout. I have on idea how to set a target weight or even what to do to start. I've met with several personal trainers here in the States & they're all very vague, especially for how much I'm paying them, & not very motivational :(

It will be the diet, in part - you're clearly cardio-fit, full of energy and commitment, but without fuel, the body can't build mass. I'd almost bet you're not eating enough.

It'll also be about meal timings in relation to workouts - getting nutrients to the body when it needs them the most.

There are some very experienced women on here, some figure competitors, some strong women - I'm sure they'll help you.
