Last meal of the day

I do, it's my last meal before beginning to fast, usually have it right on the edge of my eating window (9pm). Kinda like a dessert to me because it tastes awesome (Optimum Nutrition Vanilla) - like slightly melted icecream =P~

As for studies, can't help ya there sorry boss.

My last meal is usually WPC with 2 TBSP Peanut Butter or 4-5 Eggs

My thought is that the fat slows the digestion enough to last you the night but will it last as long as the casein?

In reality, I doubt whether there is a massive difference bro. It's another product you have to buy. Keep it simple I say.

I usually have to get up during the night for a slash so I just chug another whey shake then.

I'd do that but then I'd probably end up having to get up for another piss a few hours later which would just piss me off (excuse then pun)

Then you get to eat again bro. :) Of course sleep is equally important.

Yeah, I only wake up to pee, if that wasn't the case then I'd munch down

i have caesin pre-bed

has added aminos and glutamine. i have it in full cream milk, about 500mls or so

seems to help recovery a bit and spreads out ur daily calories by 1 more 'meal'

ive considered having 1 ready to go in a shaker and leave it in the bathroom for my nightyl toilet mission and down it then

definatly dont have to buy caesin tho... could just use whey, milk and PB or have a tub of cottage cheese :-s

Cottage Cheese chased with skim milk. The cottage cheese is god awful that why I chase each mouthful with the milk lol.

I try not to have too much fluid late at night cause I get sick of getting up 2 or 3 times a night to take a piss. Layne Norton has a litre of milk before bed for the casien but I know I couldnt handle that level of liquid.

Jelly Fluff

Cottage cheese, WPC & WW Jelly, all blended together so it's kinda like an instant pudding.

As in throw it all in a blender together?

Pretty much. I think I put it in the recipes section a while back, but essentially just make up the jelly (either as per instructions or with less water if you want a stronger flavour). When it's almost set chuck in 2 serves of PP and a 250g tub of CC, and blend. Used to do it in a blender, but an electric beater works just as well. Just make sure you do it for long enough to break up the chunks. Chuck it into a couple of bowls, back in the fridge for a bit, and voila.

I usually make it into 2 serves, so its a decent feed and you're still getting a full serve of whey. But Chillicat tried it a while back and reckons it's good in 4 serves.

My way (made with lite CC and unflavoured Nutra-whey from bodybuilding.co.nz)

224.9cal, 43.5P, 5.8C, 2.9F

I always have a shake with milk, super quad casein, cottage cheese and a few blueberries or a banana. Blend together and it tastes all good.

Good way to get cottage cheese down ya.

Just make sure to blend the cottage cheese with only a little milk first to get rid of the chunks and then add the rest of the milk. Gives a much better texture this way.

MMMM yum, yeah, it's delicious. I sometimes split it into 2 serves and sometimes into 4. Three is probably just right for me though, as splitting it into 2 can sometimes make for a portion that is just too big for me to get down.

I've tried strawberry with strawberry protein powder, and raspberry, blackberry and pineapple with chocolate protein powder (pineapple lump flavour!) and they're all delicious.

I have either fluff or sludge for pre-bed.

  • 3 weeks later...

Last meal before i go to sleep i always down some casein protein, i use very little water so its more like eating chocolate icing. Casein take 7-8 hours to fully digest, i also eat some peanut butter off the spoon, some good healthy fats which also slow down digestion.

Cottage cheese is also another good food to eat before bed but that shit makes me want to throw up.
