Good luck Weener Lad - txt me & let me know how it all goes?

Looking forward to seeing what Lisa Bailey & Mark Anderson look like on stage - I'm picking freaky! Though I know neither will peak for this given timing of the Universe still many weeks away.

Well I have just got home from the NABBA/WFF Christchurch show.

Now for my take on the good and bad.

I was very impressed with the standard of athletes. There was not one person who didnt deserve to be there.

Well organised and a good turn out of supporters.

I managed to see a couple of the guys on here on stage and they did look great so my hat goes off to them. (Weenerlad and Dawinstef if Im not mistaken??)

The depth of the athletic men was really impressive previous show that I have attended lacked any real depth in this class with there usually being an obvious winner and a couple of others to make up numbers but this was not the case at all. (this is my first Nabba/WFF show and the athletes are a step above the athletes ive seen at Nabba nz shows)

This is the same with the females as well I was most impressed. Unsure of the redheaded figure lady name I will put it in when the result are posted but she was a stand out, as was the mother of 5. I would never have guessed 5 kids!!!!

Now that brings me to the glamore models. Well where do I start. I beleive that this modeling rubbish has no place at a bodybuilding show, today I have to eat my words. It was a fun addition to the show which I enjoyed (I hate myself so much). Some walked well other spoke well some chose better dresses than others and I was sitting on the edge of my seat trying to pick the top 3. Even the wife doubted the relevance to models at a BBing show but she to enjoyed it.

The big boys were big with a little big boy Mark Anderson showing that he is on a completly different level than any other male in NZ.

This was the same for Lisa Bailey. She had no other females to compete against so posed with the boys and gave them a good run for their money. I would have placed her second overall for physique behind Mark and ahead of the othe physique men. These two were miles ahead of anybody else and considering the rest were by no means chumps really shows their class.

The only bad thing was the cockhead behind us speaking too loud giving his "expert" opinion on each and every athlete including what exercises they needed to do in the gym to fix their weaknesses.

This was rectified by a midway interlude which gave us a chance to get some food and choose another seat away from the "expert".

The bench press expo was unreal 255kgs at 79kg unreal.

So enough with the shit talking on here, time to get in shape and compete next April. Lisa and Mark need some competition.

Hat goes off to Weenerlad who looked bloody awesome, well done mate. Lisa bailey.... WOW

Worst thing about the show was the fucking DJ that couldnt press the right buttons... More than 6 or so times the music got fucked up with one competitor afi just posing to someone else's music lol. If I was on stage I would have been royally fucked off how hard can it be.

Apart from that great depth of competitors with up and coming kagan orton (big Steve ortons big little brother) looking like he will go far just like his big bro.

Bench demonstration was awesome but a bit gut wrenching watching alf miss lifts that any other day I'm sure he would have destroyed hard luck bro.

Pretty cool seeing a lean powerlifter at 79kg prepped for a bodybuilding comp press 255. 8)

Yeah you could see afi think f*ck it ill do it anyway. Happen to me at Nationals and I did the same thing. Fucking hard doing a routine to some other cats music. Got to feel bad for them too coming out and posing to the music you have just posed to.

Fitness girl was a hoot dancing away by herself waiting for results after saying she needed more confidence.

From the few reports and photos I've seen it looked to be an awesome show - well done Richard & Annette.

Mark......wtf can I say..... Light years ahead of any other male in NZL.

Lisa Bailey.... As above, in a league of her own, probably 20kg muscle more than any other physique woman.

Lee - well done bro, same with your lovely lady & sister in law.

Well done Stef.

Now go and eat - all of you! ;)

Cheers mate, just wasn't feeling it today :( . Had two comps in the last 6 weeks so feeling a little burnt out.

Stuck around and watched a few classes, as people have mentioned there was plenty of depth. I look forward to seeing some photo's.

Alf, what do you think you could do with an open back shirt? How different is a full shirted lift and an open back lift?

Hard to say, I did cut the back on one of my shirts and it definitely made a difference maybe 5 - 10kg. Not sure what double ply would add.

Yesterday was always just about having a bit of fun (although I didn't have much of that) and I think it was pretty well received as it was last year. It is hard to compare Ange and myself head to head due to the types of shirts and supplements. I wasn't bothered with this and thought it would be good for everyone to see. I enjoyed watching him lift and had a good chat. He was a nice guy, very professional in his approach and made that 252.kg look pretty easy.

255 at 79....

Unimaginable, anyone get that on vid?

well done to all, wish I had time to go :C

If you search youtube for "Ange Galati bench Press" there are some clips of him.

Pic courtesy of Gofigure, 1st vs 4th (yes yes I'm 4th :) ). Might concentrate on my my "3 lifts" for the rest of the year for a change of pace. Not a bad plan as two of them suck anyway. All ready working on restoring my motor to full working condition.

Nice work Weener, you looked great again :)

Edit: Actually in hindsight I could have been 5th as well, 4th was only what my wife said hahaha

Looks like a good quality class Stef, you look sharp mate, more size and thickness than the last time I saw you compete, Well done.

Craigs got a good future in the sport if he sticks with it as he has real good balance/proportion and looks even leaner than when he cleaned up my class at the Nth Harbour last year.

Hopefully someones got some pics of the full class comparisons?

That young guy Dylan in Physique looked pretty damn good too, wicked legs.

Looking forward to seeing some of the Weener lad / Craig pics to see what the bench mark is like and see how DeepSouth came in.
