:pfft: The best advice I got was "never miss a training session and never miss a meal"

"eat every 2-3hrs" "protein and carbs at each meal"

You also need to train hard... So many people say they do, I used to be one of them.. until you understand what it takes in terms of training and work ethic, gains will be minimal.

The closest I've come/most I've ever gained was 5kg in 5 weeks, and minimal fat gain. I ate: 4-5 cups of rice a day, 1 cup of oats, 600g+ chicken breasts and a 2 protein shakes (breakfast and post w.o).

Also another piece of advice guys from the gym gave me: "focus on getting stronger week to week, don't make gaining weight your goal- strength always precedes size gains"

orly?

Noting that 5kg is not all LBM: Was 3kg body water and 2kg LBM- includes connective tissue etc.

Something called hard training Jigga, you should try it some time :pfft:

3kg water, 2kg fat and muscle? sounds liek dbol to me... lol

hey i know i am asking mostly dumb questions because my knowledge nil. What should i be squatting and is it still beneficial to do squats on the machine bench because when i use the open cage i struggle to balance. Also i tend to get a sore neck any ideas how this could be prevented. Off topic what are the benefits of creatine?

thanks try not to hate on me:P

Balance in squat is a flexibility and warm up thing get flexible first a do some no weight ATG ground with good form they should sort you out. Sore neck harden up use your sweat towel or get a thicker back. Creatine works well for me and for most others - not a magic bullet more helpful to get past a certain plateau
