Bring back the NZBB Challenge!

I for one think this competition should come back. I know we have the picture of the month competition now but can't we have both? :D

The Challenge is an online competition we've run for the last few years to get people motivated about bodybuilding and improving their physique. The competitors have to post Before, Middle and After photos, and there are usually some pretty decent prizes at stake.

Reasons to bring it back:

- It provides incentive to work harder because you are competing against people with the same deadlines.

- People have to be honest (by having a newspaper in the picture)

- The people that post full progress pictures are few and far between.

- It is fun competing rather then just posting a picture of your progress.

- It provides a yearly update to see where everyone is at all at the same time.

etc. etc.

Anyone else want this competition back?

Feel free to comment with other reasons why we should bring it back.

The sponsors want as much exposure as possible so they can recruit as many loyal customers as they can. I preferred the big prize pool and everyone competing against eachother format but it really comes down to what is in their best interests.

Would this be enough exposure:

Probably getting a lot more views now for less money.

But you have to remember those views are mostly going to be people interested in fitness, bodybuilding etc. so they will probably take more interest in the sponsor.

Personally I don't really care about the prizes.

Yeah. If the winner got a little thing under their username saying "The Man" I would put a lot of effort in to it. Good way to get people interested for free.

Dontrunwithknives - first of all, thanks for being so enthusiastic about ways we can improve the forum. I agree with most of what you've said. The difficulty is in how we run the Challenge in conjunction with the Post/Photo of the Month competitions. I need to be careful that it doesn't breach the agreement we've got with the POTM sponsors (currently Punch Supplements). The sponsorship rights, which they pay for, need to be protected. And regardless of the contract, Punch have been very good to us, and I'd like to return the courtesy.

That means any other competition we run has to consider:

a) balancing the exposure versus sponsorship cost - it has to be fair to Punch, and

b) that a Challenge sponsor is likely to be a competitor to the POTM sponsor - not necessarily an issue, but it does make the first point that much more critical.

So... It's not quite a simple as it might first appear. That's not a "No", but I'll need to have a think about how this might work.

Jigga, I like the idea of a title under the username. I might use it for the Post/Photo of the Month winners as well. Cheers!
