Has anyone ever had cellulite and lost it through bodybuilding?

It's just that I thought I'd be able to loose it through bodybuilding/cardio and decreased bady fat %....but I've just been told once someone has it ...losing it is near impossible....as skinny people can even have it.

So i was just wondering if it can be removed or prevented through increased muscle mass.

Hi phaze dont lose hope you will have better results with weight training then some cellulite cream ,weight training will def tone those cellulite prone areas with the help of a good diet, ihave never seen a toned women with cellulite never, when your friend says skinny she is talking about skinny fat people who have a low percentage of muscle mass and more fat ,yes they do exist, what you need to concentrate on is body composition rather than body weight.i would suggest hiring a good trainer in your gym to help you reach your target quicker .People will tell you all sorts of stuff coz they have set themselves limits or are too lazy to work their ass of in the gym i know coz i am surrounded by them in my own life. Although maybe one of tje more experienced ladies of this fine forum might chime in give you some superb advice

Phaze, I'm 53 and had lots of cellulite on the backs of my legs, but by the time I was ready to compete (after increasing muscle mass and losing 15kgs of fat over a period of 8 months), the cellulite had disappeared.

Mind you, now that its my off-season the cellulite is back again. :)

Actually I have found that massaging once or twice a day after a shower with Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil on slightly damp skin http://www.healthpost.co.nz/Product/WLBCO/Birch-Cellulite-Oil

and brushing before hand to stimulate the lymphatic system is really working for me... I am really surprised. :)

I also drink 2 to 3 liters of water in a day... and exercise every 2 to 3 days.

All this is helping a lot.

Hmmm...well; I've seen a lot of really fit, toned women with Cellulite over the years.

Some people are just better at covering up the offending parts than others...

It's true that some people can lose it through losing fat and increasing muscle, but this becomes more and more challenging as people age. Sometimes, what you think is cellulite is just diminshing collagen levels.

There are other people who believe cellulite is a build up of toxins in the body - when I was younger I experimented with detoxing etc...to see if it would have any effect. There were some things that seemed to improve things; massaging, steam/sauna treatment and ensuring good hydration did result in small improvements for me.

But frankly, most of it was in my head...including how bad I thought it looked.

These days I try and stay focussed on the things I know I can change and let anything outside my control take a backseat.

If it's true cellulite will go through fat loss, then work on getting in better shape and it will take care of itself...don't sweat the small stuff; stay focussed on the big picture.
