Hey, so I have dumbells at home and was wondering if its possible to do dead lifts with them?

The thing is the bar/rod only comes up to just above my ankel and so I have to squat down really far or bend down/over a bit. So I shouldnt attempt to do them???

I did some youtube searching even though im capped atm, and saw people doing a romainian deadlift, and also dead lifts on the side.

For romainian deadlifts with dumbells do you use lighter weight as you dont pick them up from the ground after each rep?

Plz dicuss using deadlifts using dumbells thanks ;)

no problem deadlifting dumbbells, your just using different mechanics.

you will mainly be using leg drive and you wont stimulate your back enough with that variation...its basically a deficit deadlift.

tbh i wouldnt even use this variation. you can try them elevated eg on a low bench or even use the trap bar instead.

bottom line is nothing beats the conventional deadlift for brute strength.
