Look, at the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, Paul is a public figure who needs to be socially responsible. His comments only encourage people (like you) to say pathetic things like the GG "looks like a dairy owner" and quite wrongly generalise an entire culture. Perhaps you'll change your tune when certain aspects of your life are at the receiving end of his insults.

I think it has happened to him and he is lashing out (Repeating the Cycle) :(

There seems to be a crazy overreaction by many people over this. John Minto's bunch of rent a protest were way off the mark.

I'm a palagi from flaxmere, my group of friends looks like the United fucken Nations. Boys n girls from Aitutaki, Ngati Kahungunu, India, Sweden, Vietnam, Croatia, Samoa - you name it.

Paul's statements weren't racist, they were television ratings BS. He's effectively a shock jock, tell me you don't hear worse on The Rock or Hauraki any morning on the way to work.

Probably only the fact he's on state television that makes this newsworthy.

Over it already. PC bullshit gone mad IMHO.

Agree, it's just ratings-driven bullshit, the guy was hired to offend as many people as possible, because that way more people will tune in to see what all the fuss is about. Anyone remember Paul Holmes' first show, his treatment of Dennis Connor caused a huge outcry, but his second show had a huge audience, and he went on to become a media icon. Same thing here, I have never watched the show, so if it wasn't for all his controversy I wouldn't have even heard of him, ergo, he's done his job.

On top of that, someone at TVNZ needs to have the balls to stand up and tell all the whiners out there to HTFU. Let's face it, 99.9% of the english-speaking world is going to have a giggle at the name "Dikshit", it's just that most are now too frightened of offending someone to actually have that giggle out loud. Yet if Billy T James, Ewen Gilmour or Te Radar have made the joke, we'd be rolling in the aisles. 700 people have complained, and 20 or so Minto-ites held a chant-in, so fucking what. These are the same people who will complain about everything, the "professional victims" as I call them. What about the rest of the country that didn't feel the need to fire off yet another invective-filled whine-fest? Paul Henry is there because people watch him, that's all there is to it. And at the end of his suspension you can guarantee that even more people will be watching, even if it's just to find something else to bitch about.

Personally, from what I've seen of him, I think he's a bit of a cock, although he has some funny moments. And he kinda reminds me of Jeff Goldblum, who I do like.

And as for John Minto, there's someone who could best serve the human race by departing it.

Here is how I see it, personally myself when you see a foreign name you never come across before you make a effort to pronounce it right. Put 2 and 2 together when speakng about the Govenor General of NZ who you know is of Indian origins your gonna use that brain of yours to go wait a minute, I better get this right..not make a right cock of it and myself on national television. Cant beleive we apologized to the indian government what a pile of shit. Why should we bow down to a bit of pressure from a few diplomats?
