budget brown rice

has anyone tried this before and does anyone know if its actually brown rice? the packet only says 'brown rice long grain'. i cooked some up today and its very different in terms of texture and softness, to my usual 'sunrice brown rice'.

the budget brand is way softer than the sunrice brand,which is what made me wonder if it was actually brown rice or if there are different types of brown rice and higer GI rating? any thoughts?

If you are going to the effort of eating brown rice instead of white rice then I would just stick with the quality stuff mate. It sounds like the budget brown rice is more refined than the brown rice brand you were using before which you don't want. The less processed the better.
