Justin is there any chance of a heart transplant?

I would think that anyone who stated they would still smoke 2 packs a day, would not be eligible for a lung or heart transplant.

This may mean that he may not be eligible for any transplants, as he doesn't look like stopping, even with his condition.

I am not being an asshole, just putting my 10cents worth in.

Everyday above ground, is a good day, folks...

We all do things that have perceived risks. Hell, living has a 100% chance of causing death, and we give that a go. Having no regrets is the best path forward, as regretting the things we did is bullshit, as we all knew teh risks to whatever venture has caused issues.

Staying positive through this is the inspiring 'silver lining', and in my future, I hope that whatever lfe throws at me, I can be positive too.

Can't get heart transplant as my heart to big and no other heart will fit be taken up. They always approach me Truth, Close up etc if anything I try and get people to understand the issue more as there is a hell of allot more people out there that are doing everything they can to get as massive as possible without a care in the world for there health ( most would not admit it though). If it can help others to not do as i have done then that is great :)

I cant stand seeing bodybuilding being portrayed negatively especially in a public forum such as tv. I don't know you personally Justin but have watched you since you first entered the competitive scene and I wish you all the best to a speedy recovery but why would you choose to share this on tv. The uninformed public who already think bodybuilding is strange will have a field day with this tragic story. I love bodybuilding and if any of you are ever in a position to represent our awesome sport please do it to show off how great it is and stay away from the negatives and stereotypes that haunt us. The media and haters eat that crap up!

This really has bugger all to do with bodybuilding but rather getting as big as possible not caring what anything does to your body to get there. Bodybuilding is just a sport a do as being big in that helps when you are on stage. I could do wrestling and still have the same mindset/ disease of doing everything to get as big as possible even though it killed me. If it helps others not do as have have done in any way then it was successful !!! as there is no help out there at all and we are left to deal with it by ourselves If I were an anorexic everyone would know how to deal with it and you would get help. I know there are a hell of alot of people out there that are on the road to destruction and if that stops it and shows the reality then my job is done :)

I think its too late for the general public - media will never let the sport rest unless its doing a story on female athletes - for some reason they are exempt.

Agree with Justins responce above in that it could make others second guess following the lifestyle in such excess. The challenge with any story of this nature is that the general public will not here a message if presented, that some steriod use is safe privided you get expert advice and ensure you are not abusing it - like any other medication.

A question I have for you Justin is: When its all done, what do you want to be your legacy? (There are probably many: and still more to come). I noted there was only a tiny reference to the GHB charge which means the media and public have almost let it go now. I have always been a fan of yours mate, your humility in openning your your experience up with a view to inspire others is one of your many strengths. How will your contribution live on beyond your years? These are many questions I ask myself lately and for similar reasons to yourself.

:)

The media always have to follow the script and usually they follow the steroid thing even though that is only part of the reason that I am not well all the party drugs fucked me up just as much if not more but I think the combination of the two extremes as i don't do anything by halves was the real killer :) I am such an angel these days that most my mates don't recognize me and wonder what I have done with the real me. My body just cant handle anything anymore have heart failure, spit up blood etc etc if I even think about things ...

My legacy I suppose just that I put everything I had into what ever I did never gave up and never settled for anything less than aiming for perfection even though that is impossible to reach :)

I admire you Justin for putting up this post. It takes a lot of guts to reflect on our mistakes in life. I believe we learn from adversity, not from the good things that happen. There will always be the question of abuse in your mind. Hell we have all been to that place in some form. Its trying to find balance & peace in your heart that is the hard part. We strive to be different, to stand out in the croud but as much can be achieved from taking a background role & working from that place where the expectations & pressures to perform are not so great. Take good care of your body & listen to what it is telling you. Do not give up. Make this your new addiction.

Peace,

R

Can't get heart transplant as my heart to big and no other heart will fit be taken up.

That is most unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear that.

Some would say that they'd rather live one day as a tiger than a lifetime as a mouse. Would this hold true for you?

What newspaper do you work for? :-s
