Training to gain mass

Recommended Posts

Ive been back into the gym for about 5 months now, 4 times a week.

I do a split programme and generally to 4 sets with the reps going 12/10/8/6 for each exercise.

I want to see in the next six weeks how much size I can put on. A friend has recommended doing 5 sets of 5 reps at max weight...

Is this a good way to approach it?

I thought it was worth a try?

everyone ones different of course so what works for one may not for you. Eat big and clean...say 500-1000 calories more than your base/maintence number and use squats, deadlifts, barbell and dumbell rows, overhead press, bench/incline press, dips, curls etc...do plenty of wok with these big movements and get plenty of rest - take a few days off each week and sleep well.
