Hey Everyone, I'm new to this site, but not new to fitness etc! :)

I'm on here, looking for advice on ways to strip body fat and gain lean muscle, was wonderign if there are any bodysculpting competitors that are willing to offer advice on diet and exercise plans.

My current stats are 5'6" and 62kg. Not wanting to drastically lose a lot of weight, but need to lose 5kg or so and tone up.

My current diet can look like this

Breakfast: Cereal (Just right/hubbards) and coffee with dash of milk

Morning Tea: One piece of fruit, 2-4 vita wheat crackers

Lunch: Chicken/Tuna/Salmon and salad Sandwich

Afternoon Tea: Some sort of museli bar, kellogs/flemmings, fruit

Dinner: Chicken/Tuna/Steak with salad/veges and rice/potato

Dessert: Yoghurt with 1 fruit, decaf coffee

Any advice/suggestions much appreciated. Thanks. :shifty:

Welcome VV!

My overall thought on your diet is that it's a bit light on protein, and heavy on carbs. For instance...

- Cereal is ok, but there's not much protein other than a bit in the milk. A lot of Hubbard's cereals also tend to be quite high in sugar (yummy though!)

- Morning tea, ok, but could have more protein. Afternoon tea, unfortunately muesli bars are full of sugar - really just chocolate bars in disguise! I suggest you drop this and have a protein shake instead.

- Dessert. Is your yoghurt sweetened? If so, same deal as afternoon tea. Maybe a protein shake would be better. There are lots of ways of turning protein shakes into nice desserts, too.

If you want a muesli bar type snack but without all the sugar you could try making a homemade one. I make some with oats (2 cups), protein powder (8 American scoops - the big ones) and 100g peanut butter, mix it all together with as little water as possible otherwise it'll go all slusy, and freeze then cut into 12 slices. Depending on the protein powder/peanut butter brand, you're looking at about 250-300 calories per bar (more if you chuck in some nuts or fruit or whatever, but I'm sure you're big enough to operate a calculator to work it out yourself  ) -yummy and a much healther version and gives you a good shot of protein as well (a good 20g per bar).

Thanks Pseudonym and Chillicat. Very helpful pointers. Ooh protein desserts? Would I be able to find these in the recipe section? I'm still finding my way around the site! And I'm going to attempt the protein slice, might be trial and error the first few times though :pfft: Thanks alot! :D

I've eaten one every day for breakkie since I discovered them. Can bit a bit hit and miss with the water - so my recommendation is to use just enough boiling water to soften the oats to begin with, then add in the rest of the ingredients (nowadays I just use protein powder and PB) and add a little water at a time if you really need it. It can be quite a workout mixing it together with just a little water, but if you use too much they'll just end up sloppy.
