If I asked Danomyte (Nuie Weightlifting), Pala (Vanuatu Weightlifting) or Stas (NZ Weightlifting) etc I'm sure like me they'd sleep in a tent & squat on a bucket to make the platform!

A few holes in walls & exposed wires shouldn't stop our team!

Do people realise a few NZBB members are competing at the games?

Are they? I had a feeling some might be going, but I hadn't seen any posts about it. Congrats to them! Assuming they get there, maybe they can give us an exclusive Games report. :)

No for the NZ athlets who are going to the Commonwealth games plus part that world is unsafe with huge risk of Terrorist attacks from any terror group and I would not all the surprised if the games got canned when the India can not have the venues finshed on time and what happend yesterday a public walk way for the stadium fell.

Why would you choose a place like india to hold the games, there is f*ck all good tht can come out of the games being held there and just a whole lot of bad. The chumps working fo a bowl of vin da loo a day cant even get a stadium ready in time. its a joke

one of the dude's I went to high school with is competing there too...hopefully Mr.Spooner does well (if the games do actually go ahead in India)

Patterson & Spooner from Auckland repping in the Weightlifting as well. Be lots of eyes watching from Gillies, Millenium & Netfitt I'd imagine when the the Weightlifting starts! :nod:

Really what sort of pussy P.C. country do we live in! They have known for 7-8 years that they were going to India and anybody who has been there or can Google knows what the country is like. As far as building and construction goes we can hardly talk look at all the leaky homes and stadiums that have problems in NZ.

Let the athletes go leave the managers at home :pfft:

Leave it to the individual athletes, I would suspect that for most, the love of the sport, and the opportunity to compete, would overcome the negatives.

More to the point, what fuckwit decided to give the games to a third world shithole in the first place? So far India has spent $6billion on the games, including infrastructure, and another $3billion on the Delhi airport, and yet the majority of their population is living in abject poverty. The whole thing's a bloody farce, there was no way they were ever going to get their shit together, let alone turn it into a plus for their country.
