Attention Country of origin Comps

Hey BG,

What this means is that the "country of Origin" shows that were suppose to qualify NZ competitors for the Australian Nationals will no longer qualify competitors for Australians Nats or any Nationals for that matter as no longer backed by any federation. Hope that clears it up for you.

Just got off Phone from Carole

The Country of Origin in Australia and the NZ Privately Promoted Shows are all go as planned and id suggest that the INZFBB/NZFBB/NPC exec team or whatever you are called these days focus on your own shows and we will do the same.

Thank you for confirming that Carol.

There are over a hundred athletes registered so far for Kaye and Mike's shows this weekend with indications from a good number of athletes who are eager to compete at your event in Sydney, even before selections have been made.

The athletes selected from these events will have full support from the team managers attending your event and each athlete will be paid their subsidies when promised - not just a select favourite few and accomodation is at the very beautiful and trendy Bondi Beach. The athletes will be basking in the the sun with athletes from Guam, New Caledonia and other islands. How exciting is that.

The sponsors for Mike and Kayes events have been amazing.. Just have a look at the posters. Many new sponsors have come on board and the organisers have sunk their teeth in and done everything to ensure these will be brilliant shows.

These 3 upcoming events in New Zealand also welcome back past judges who have previously been disposed of, who have a wealth of judging experience so the athletes are assured of fair judging with the normal criteria of the past. Athletes of any federation are welcome to compete in these events. All the best to the organisers and to the athletes this weekend.. CHCH and Tauranga will rock..

Thank You for your input Carol,

Again, I never said the shows wouldnt go ahead I simply said that I have received official Informatiom from the TOP of the IFBB stating that these shows will not be supported by IFBB Australia.

Both you and MIke have stated that the shows will go ahead, what is not clear, is whether or not The IFBB Australia will be supporting them as Legitimate qualifiers to the Australian Nationals. Could you Please confirm this as I have received information to the contrary.

Thank you

Moe Elmoussawi has asked that the following statement from himself, on behalf of the NZIFBB, be included to provide a balanced input from all parties involved.

I have spoken with Dr Rafael Santonja (IFBB President) and Jim Manion (IFBB Vice President, North America) and have asked that Paul Graham and Carole Graham be asked to resign if they continue to support the shows being run in New Zealand by another body claiming IFBB affiliation.

The rules state only one IFBB affiliate per nation.

This matter will be discussed further at the IFBB Congress in 3 weeks time.

Moe Elmoussawi

20 October Update

Letter says

To all NZIFBB Members

Dear valued members of the New Zealand International Federation of Bodybuilders:

Any NZIFBB athlete who is considering competing at the Australian Nationals 'Country of Origin' without formal consent of the NZIFBB Federation will loose his/hers membership status immediately and will be suspended from our federation for two consecutive years

The NZIFBB has not approved the Country of Origin's class, therefore you have not qualified through the proper IFBB Federation of your country in which is deemed illegal

If you have any queries regarding this matter, please do not hesistate to contact me at nzfbb@xtra.co.nz

Sincerely

Johanna Moses

How can that possibly be legal?

Why would the NZFBB committee want to exclude some of NZs best talent from their comps next year and the year after? This appears to be such an immature knee jerk reaction from the NZFBB that will lead to some of the best competitors boycotting their shows. :naughty:

Why on earth the NZFBB would want to leave out some of there best athlets from there comps in the new year.I thought how very immature from the NZFBB which lead to some of there best athlets jumping ship and competing in other feds like NABBA,INBA,IFBB south pacfic and NABBA/ WFF also thought that as well can this be legal and what a dumb letter or in other words  .

And it is for this exact reason those of us competing really don't care about the NZIFBB or losing our membership fees.

It's all about particular people feathering their own nests instead of allowing (amateur) athletes to compete where ever possible.

I guess this will really be my last Classic Class comp! Never mind NABBA/WFF is heading in a better direction than the current NZIFBB.

NZIFBB it's about the athletes, without them and their support you will not exist! WE pay your wages

Why doesn't NZIFBB do the same to those competing for Nabba and Nabba/WFF and ban them for 2 years? Would just make it consistent after all.

I would have thought competing for Nabba or Nabba/WFF was more disloyal to NZIFBB than the Origin.

If we want to keep competitors loyal and locked to one federation then that would be the best way.

The problem is only 60 competitors turned up for NZIFBB Nationals this year and with a rule like that they might get a lot less.
