Man I love breakfast...

1/2 cup oats + 1 cup water into the microwave for about 1.5-2mins

Stir then add 1 or 2 scoops protein powder.

**More oats = more water needed

VOILA! All done.

Sometimes I add blueberries or substitute the water for skim milk. Sometimes I even skip the microwave altogether and just eat the oats as they are + skim milk + protein powder... its still nice.

**NOTE: Unless you've got your timing down to a T (or a really deep bowl), keep an eye on the porridge while its warming up... cleaning out the insides of a microwave covered in oats SUCKS :madman:

yeah I agree, 1/2 to 1 cp water, microwave for 1 &1/2-2 mins then I use 3 quarters scoop of BSN syntha in moccha or banana-awesome...lthick and creamy like a pudding

I am thinking of soaking my oats over night dose the GI index increase while my oats are soaking over night?

I doubt it. Don't know why you would want them all slushy tho. I would say the nutrient value is reduced when left in water for long periods... I guess if you don't drain the water it should be sweet.

Anything is better than the cake mix they call cereal.

over night, wat makes u say this?

Well to answer your question 2guns, some of the nutrients would escape into the water, leaving the oats less nutritious, the water more nutritious and overall just as nutritious, unless of course sunshine were to evaporate some of the water, but i guess that would leave the nutrients behind. so no real change, did that help you? \:D/

me, i'm a meat and vege kind of guy. 2:1 ratio of water to oats. microwave. add protein and some canned pineapple mix up and rock on.

an alternative i have tired is oat pancakes, can't remember the recipe but they weighed a ton.

Home made toasted muesli, nuts, dried fruit, throw it all in the oven and grill
