Collateral Damage - who's done what!

Collateral damage is damage that is unintended or incidental to the intended outcome

So what have you done to date?! :grin:

Focusing on training injuries!!! But feel free to brag about any decent ones anyway!! :grin:

I thought I'd start, but I'm struggling to remember them all - my ACC claims history must look appalling! Here's a few more memorable ones:

* The usual elbow tendonitis

* Torn ab muscle

* Umbilical hernia (keyhole surgery!)

* Torn L) quad mid muscle belly

* Major abrasion R) forearm (courtesy of Farmers Walk / Tarseal combo)

* Lower back injuries x too many to count (major in 2006 Squatting in Comp)

* Torn hamstrings x 3 (2 at once! :grin: )

* Patella tendonitis

* Chipped teeth (courtesy of Steel Log!)

* 30% tear of L) quad tendon

* Torn suppinator & bicep muscle belly (distal & proximal)

* Facet joints / muscle spasm x 3 to date

Big gash on my right shin... fell into a bore-hole that was covered up by grass, think of the pain getting kicked in the shin....but then multiply that by 10 as steel and concrete sliced through to the bone......

Some beauties there Nate :D

Shudder, ouch!

To date ive had

-multiple shoulder dislocations right shoulder at least 6 times left about 3, was suppose to have key hole surgery to reattach ligaments in right shoulder but decided against it

-Partially torn ligaments in right knee

-Had black eyes from squats

-Low back x a few, right now Ive got a low back injury from log pressing where my spine compressed, hoping theres just some soft tissue damage.

-Partially tore the glute where it inserts into the hammy from deadlifting.

-Banged my hip up pretty bad by landing( more like not landing :lol: ) a forward flip on some hardword floor

Plenty more to come Im sure!!

You've had a few blinders - was wondering how the hell you did those in training till I got to the end!

* Torn subscap in left and especially right shoulders (right has blown several times before I knew what was going on so that shoulder never gets above 85% functional).

* Partially torn right hamstring doing glute-ham raises.

* Partially torn left hamstring warming up on deadlifts.

* Shin splints if I try to run (or walk too far) weighing much over 90kg

* Aggravated facet joint around L2-L3 from log pressing

* Tore one of the adductor muscles in my left leg at the bottom of a squat

* Tore my right quad (VM) around the knee at the bottom of a squat

* Some weird crap in the levator scapulae on my left side that occasionally cramps and radiates pain up into my neck and down my left arm. Not sure if this is a training injury since it was happening before I started lifting, but benching used to aggravate it badly.

* Tendinitis in the right bicep, both at the elbow and at the shoulder insertion.

* Tendinitis in both elbows if I work them too much. There's a chip of bone missing out of my right elbow (no idea...) which makes the right side act up a little more.

* Tendinitis in both quads.

* Some weird cramping in my right hip flexor if I stand up the wrong way. This usually pops out.

* Torn huge calluses off both hands.

* Sprained multiple joints in the fingers of both hands by slamming them in between plates or other impacts.

That's most of the big ones, minus whatever I'm forgetting.

Shit that sucks, knw how you feel!

that why you been off from training for a while?

cut most tendons, both arteries and a whole lot of nerves, can't feel most my hand but grip strength all good now (very good physio and allot of hard work), :pray: thank god it happened these days and not 15 years ago.

My list isn't nearly as impressive, however im a chick and we tend to be less reckless.

Left delt injury 10 years ago which still gives me jip

Left subscap strain

Left surpaspanatis tear

Left calf tear from bodystep

Left hamstring strain

Left medial knee cartilage

Shin splints from bad footwear

Left tennis elbow from smashing against the squash court walls

Left foot instep problem that went away after 3 months

Left pec minor tear (thought i had breast cancer with that one)

Gosh after reading my list, im getting a complex about being a lefty.

I won't add my cosmetic surgery cos its a big list.

torn hamstring

tendonitis in archiles

tendonitis in knee

stress fracture in my foot

shin splints

Oh and a broken wrist! But considering I went over the front of my motorcross bike and over a fence I think a broken wrist was getting off lightly :shifty:

hah thought i was the only one. i only lost 20kg though.

also similarly, i cut a tendon in my foot falling through a car windscreen. now i have a limp toe. it's awesome.

oh i've also been stabbed twice. one just off the spine and one in the lat.
