LOL. You need to get your information from a better source than conspiracy theory type websites.

The multitude of peer reviewed published studies show no evidence of harm.

I think you're in the same boat as you were in the "When is a calorie not a calorie?" thread. Well intentioned but misinformed.

The only way to believe all that stuff you've posted is to first believe in these conspiracy theory claims. I'm only interested in the science. Talk of evil corporations making the world sick for profit etc. probably belongs in the Playground.

I was going to comment in a similar vein re: the conspiracy theory stuff.

It seems psuedo science with a conspiracy theory behind it still attracts peoples attention.

Interesting how people in the nutrition / training world also luv to dispute mainstream stuff simply because its mainstream.....kind of screams out "look at me I'm so alternative"! :pfft: :pfft:

If something reeks of shit its usually shit. And science very quickly puts it through a mass spectrometer and confirms it is indeed faeces!

The argument that science doesn't explain everything is valid, no doubt there is a lag. But where solid scientific studies prove something is safe, I'll run with that until another valid study proves otherwise.

That said Elite's opinion & views always offer food for thought & I'm sure other members will enjoy another fact vs. fiction type discussion.

Yep, I'm with you on this. There was a great discussion on the Skeptic's Guide to the Universe podcast a while back which discussed the difference between 'skeptics' (people who question things and look for the scientific evidence behind claims) and 'contrarians' (people who go against the mainstream just because it's mainstream). People often mistakenly lump skeptical thinkers in with contrarians, but the difference is skeptics think, contrarians just don't really :pfft:

And you provided a better website? Give me a break look into those studies on Snopes massive conflicts of interest there...from the lancet paper right through to the FDA documents.... follow the money trail.......You obviously didn't bother to watch the Blaylock video either.

Funny how independently funded research shows a problem with aspartame but 100% of industry funded research alludes to aspartame's safety.

I think you're in the same boat as you were in the "When is a calorie not a calorie?" thread. Well intentioned but misinformed.

LOL on the contrary i think it is you that is misinformed.

Conspiracy fact....don"t confuse things...ample evidence & research to back up aspartame's toxic effect on the body..

The safety is well documented by peer reviewed published studies.

I don't know what more to say other than your response proved both mine, and Nate's point.

No what i mean is that the studies supporting the safety of aspartame are from none other than Nutrasweet and the likes of G.D.Searle etc...who hold the patent for aspartame, big financial interests in this one, are you aware of the timeline that aspartame became legal?

more scaremongering from E121

Look at the case histories of aspartame being the most complained about additive in FDA history.... in this day and age our bodies are bombarded with chemicals we don"t need any more of this stuff entering our bodies....as for scaremongering if thats what you call it.... its not my intent and everyone has a free will to make up their own mind on this matter.... who is right and who is wrong then?

How come people never worry this much about the stuff that matters?

Elite121, you've looked at the research and picked out the methodological flaws right?

I mean, you wouldn't just be claiming research is bad to dismiss it because it disagrees with you, right?

An ounce of prevention is worth a cure.....yes there are other things far more serious I wont dismiss that....its important to me that I share this information, and it gives me satisfaction helping educate my clients.

Have you actually taken the time to look into Aspartame?

tl,dr

if you spend this long worrying about wether or not to include aspartame, you dun goofed.

luckily enough for us kiwi's it aint that hard to avoid, im not sure people choose whether or not to include aspartame - its more a case of people being unaware of it and the potential long term risks, which aren't yet quantified.

Both refined sugar and Aspartame have detrimental effects on the body, considering refined sugars link to cancer, diabetes and osteoporosis to name a few, we'd be better off eliminating both from our diet.As far as I"m concerned the only thing we should be drinking is water.

Right, that's it, I'm off to live in my cave, far away from everyone and everything, where I will live on nothing but water. By the time that runs out, I'll have flushed all the toxins out of my body, and be able to recycle my own urine, thus proving the theory of perpetual motion, whilst simultaneously living a wholly pure existence, completely removed from any impurities that could cause cancer, AIDS, fatness, skinnyness, baldness, hairyness, atrophy, hypertrophy, anabolism, catabolism, or canabalism.
