Im in the same boat as u SFS (even weaker actually). :doh: :doh:

But just recently pulled a 150kgs and i would like to join in for the competition but through the Inhhunnett (if thats ok) as i live in Melbourne now.

200kgs that would be awesome if i could. I guess u gotto aim high :)

You can join in mate I can find you a Novice event in Melbourne to enter in 2011 mate no issues there as that was the one rule and only rule.

Yeah I'll give it a nudge. I don't have a real expectation of topping the 250kg class, but nothing like a sense of competition to drive ya forward.

Hmm, what's the lower limit on the "master's" class?

Whats your 1 rep max mate at present.

Managed 160 for one today, couldn't get 165 off the floor. That was fasted, at BW of 89.

250kg from 160kg to much of an increase mate, umm put you in Mens masters at 210kg sound good?

He's done 360 from memory and couldn't get 370. I'd say he'd need to target 380+ :nod:

As for the Big Guy he'll have to be at 390kg with the smallest jump out of us all LOL (poor bugger) :pfft: and take the NZ Record above and beyond if anyone he could probably do it.

Some advice, I did 6x 160kg stiff leg for hammies yesterday (with straps) so what would you suggest is my goal?

Also for us casual gym bunny / part time bodybuilders can you find the perfect video (youtube will do) that shows the exercise being done in the correct manner, the power lifting way.

bro load up the bar and lift it until you find a weight you cant lift there is your max at the moment why do people want another way to test their max just lift the f*cker and find out!!

Hey Johnboy007

Mate the best way is to go in the gym and give them a go mate, but when you do make sure your feet are no wider than your shoulders closer the better squat low and use alot of leg power instead off your lower back to drive it up.

Every ones style is different so you will need to find this out for yourself mate but here's a clip that you can watch.

im just a stickboy, but im aiming for 5plates, which is 50k on my last 1rm.

What is 5 plates? 220? (man my maths sucks).

I thought you'd pulled 180? I might be in or around your boat too.

I pulled 190 a few weeks back so might look for 240.
