With all the drama and goings on that happened with the NZFBB last year(bad publicity , loss in sponcers, failed drug tests, huge dept, resighning committe members, in house fighting etc etc etc) How do you think this year will go ?????

And what changes would you like to see made to get things on track???

All the NZFBB goings on have been bandied around for a while now in the gyms and on the boards etc. It all seems very political and clicky hrdcor. What will change this year? Not much Hrdcor. Terry Hills from Wellington is a good guy and is trying hard. But the rest of them? They all seem to have their own agenda. I wonder how many competitors they will have at the Auckland champs. Probably about the same as last year. Yeah its all too political and clicky for me.

Thats the other thing I was going to say Hrdcor and that is that it is all very friggin frustrating. There is always lots of talk but in reality it all just bumbles along year after year. Also heres another thing. I think it is time to get some fresh Judges as well. Most of those old codgers just want a weekend away. Half the time they wouldn't know what they're lookin at and the other half of the time they have their little favourites.

Yeah that is said alot but to be honest usally the person who wins is the deserving winner , except I think in the Figure classes, there are some suspect calls in that class, I would like to see figure girls and a all women judgeing panel for this class to take the "I am a hot sexy sex kitten " element out of some of the calls !!!!

There doesn't seem to be much chance of change until people at the top step down.

Surely if the NZFBB has another poor result, both financially & attendance-wise, the structure needs to be looked at. For the sake of bodybuilding in this country.

Marcus you are absolutely right.Every organisation no matter what business it is "it all starts at the top"

Instead of rectifying the CAUSE of the problem the NZFBB is trying to treat the SYMPTOMS.There is a massive loss of confidence in this organisation(particularly in Auckland)which is a shame given that 4 years ago it was thriving.

Changing the title of the committee members isn't going to pay the bills, recruit more members or secure sponsors.

What went wrong?

Hardcor has hit the nail on the head time and time again. It is not rocket science-look at Terry Hills success in Wellington. It wasn't too long ago when the Wellington contests struggled to break even but from all accounts the Capital is now thriving.

What happened-Terry Hills appeared with the right team, skills, fairness and enthusiasm.

Sure the ground work had been laid by Tim and Jonathan but look at Wellington go now with a fraction of the population Auckland has.Good on them.

unfortuantely i think the same things will pop up again this year the same as last. people will complain about the judgining and the lack of cash and sponsors. this seemed to be the main consensus last year, but all chances were brought up to try and change it, majority voted to keep the system. I don't know maybe my eternal optimism with the new year, but reckon things will be alright :)

Like any business, if it's not performing then changes need to be made. It's as simple as that. I hope the NZFBB doesn't lose any more ground before this realisation is made.

I haven't competed before but I've been seriously considering it. However with all the politics & shit that has gone on for months & months it just doesn't seem that appealing any more. I know this is a negative point of view but it's shared by many others & at the end of the day will stop bodybuilding developing in this country.

I totally agree with both Hardcor and Point of view. There will not be any changes within the federation until the next AGM. I would like to think that there has been enough exposure during the last few months to encourage some fresh blood to run for the positions that are coming available. I know it has been very frustrating for some committee members who have tried to make suggestions or get things moving in the right direction, but time and time again they come up against a brick wall. Those at the top are not willing to listen to good advice or make the neccessary changes.

Point of view, you are 100% right in saying there is a massive loss of confidence in the Auckland region. As a competitor I have no intention of competing in Auckland this year, but would be more than willing to travel to Wellington to compete in a show that is going to be well run with good numbers.
