This show always has a feel good atmosphere. A great non-threatening way to "have-a-go" at getting on stage - and provides good motivation for those participating to get in shape.

Naera and Tim have been great ambassadors in supporting this event - congratulations guys, looking forward to this one :)

Just a quick update, Raphael is definately competing. He will be about 106kg on stage at 7% bodyfat, his arms are still measuring at 20 inches, although once his carb load is completed and he pumps up they should be closer to 21 I would think. Another huge tongan guy form CP new lynn is competing as well, knowone seems to know his name (does anybody know?) he is currently sitting at 130kg. So if you want to see some major muscle up on the stage be sure to come along .

Haha... It's the fish John West rejects that make John West the best.

So what did the show look like from the judging table, HP?

Really good, was a great show, lots of good competitors. Finished nice and early as well. I think the M.C did an awesome job considering it was the first time he has done that sort of thing.

Much respect to Neara for putting on such a seamless event, ran smoothly from start to finish.

MC was very good.

Good numbers for a club show (better than some feds in Auckland of late). Credit to Naera for a great night and for producing some of the bodies gracing the stage too. (female athletes in their first show - good conditioning for novice  )

Good to see a team down from the Kaitaia club again this year - bodybuilding is alive and well in the far north :)

This show always has a great community feel about it. I poke to a number of the first timers and they are going to press on to provincial shows so it goes to show how supporting these community shows can grow the sport through creating a non-threatening environment for people to have a go.

I missed the dance crew - but I hink this is a great idea to energise the crowd. I gave Moe a lot of credit for using dancers at the Aucklands the year before last and I think other promoters should consider it.

Having each class do thier routine, pose and then prize giving was a good idea. Although, they possibly could have improved it slightly by only calling out the top 3 for the prize giving or alternatively having a medal awarded for everyone in the class. (A couple where the 4th person missed out on the recognition - 4 in class) Perhaps a certificate of achievement can be awarded.

A shame Paul Richards Club Physical CEO wasn't there - but the show was supported by Rowen from New lynn and Selwyn and his team from Kaitaia.

Thats true Opti, especially since its alot of competitors first time on stage, at least they would walk away with something.

I thought the format was an improvement as well. Alot better having the compusories and routines all in the same show rather than seperate morning and evening shows, it just makes for to long a day.

Paul wanted to come but he is flat on his back at the moment with a major back injury.

Was good to see you opti has been a while, looking bigger than ever
