Diarrhea??

Lol jk. Do you mean like not giving you the energy??

I know its bad but i prefer to use sugar. I can't fit enough like rice and stuff in my stomach to give me the energy i need.

Haha hmmm

Nah like holding water, not giving enough fullness etc

Problem is with the carb in is that everybody is different. Some people go well on a clean carb in like rice, kumara, couscous ect ect, while others go well on the junk in :pfft:

Personally I have never spilled over but imagine it wouldn't be hard to do if you just went all out and didn't keep an eye on things during the night.

You de-carbing?

Just noticed your last comment on holding water. Don't go making the same mistake I did thinking you had to get all the water out and do a long de-hydrate. If you have de-carbed your body will need some water to help with the carb in. It's a fine line but having gone over board and come in flat as f^&k I would suggest not over doing it.

this is one off those questions were there is no one right answer depends on so many things.your condition a week out ,how your body reacts everyone is different in how they metabalize carbs. If i was you id play on the conservative side since its your first comp and then you will get a good idea on how your body reacts . dont big out on everything you can get your hands on the friday before the show it can pay off and you look say 5% better but if it goes wrong you can end up looking 20% worse.I usually start my carb up the thursday lunch time after my last full upperbody workout fully depleted then i just have amedium to large kumara with every meal up to sat morn and i might have a few pancakes sat morn if im a good boy :P Then theres shit load but thats a different story .

  • 4 weeks later...

The addictive thing about this sport is that with each year of competing its really good to be ballsy enough to try a different decarb/carb up to see what works best. I would suggest as others have for your first year, keep it clean and natural don't look at sweet carbs, more rice, kumera, potatoe. Drip feeding it from Thursday seems to be the go. Decarb is generally done up to 4 days out and its pretty much protein and fibrous foods no stodge at all. So that when you introduce carbs hopefully your depleted muscles respond to the shock to the system and grab the glycogen for replinshment. Hence nice full muscles and really dry condition overall. It is a fine line, ive done that and also junk food carb ins, also high fat dried fruit but what works best for me is status quo. I sit on a very low carb diet for about 4 weeks and have a few extras on the day, body science is a strange and wonderous thing. Most people say "oh i looked so much better by monday", personally i think because you feel so energised from all the junk food, you see yourself as looking better.
