Unfortunately I only got there to see the guys hitting the stones, but farkin gorgeous day, and an awesome round nonetheless - especially seeing the biggest stone (155?) lifted with relative ease!

Nate's hands were a mess, that's some commitment right there! 8)

Every day's like that in Auckland, Drizzt. It's just our typical perfect weather. :shifty:

I hadn't realised NZSM was being held as part of the Highland Games, so it was a bit of a surprise to turn up and find kilted bagpipers swarming all over the place! But it actually worked really well, and attracted a much bigger and more diverse crowd than you'd normally get to such a minority sport. It also meant you could wander off, look at something else, then come back for the next interesting event. Bodybuilding shows could learn from this.

As for Nate's hands... ouch. There are easier ways to remove calluses, mate. I should've got a photo of them. Anyway, here's the few shots I did take...

Awesome day, great comp. Well done to Dale being the first lightweight to ever win NZSM.

From my perspective it was the worst performance I've ever had - none the less I had a good time & will be back with a vengeance! igel has invited me to his demonstration event in February so should be fun!

PS - the calouse tears had nothing on the two haematomas I got on my waist - grapefruit sized!! LOL

Yeah, they were quite impressive too, Nate. How did you get those?

BTW, having all you burly strongmen running around in Showgirls tshirts confused my mate. He didn't think you looked like showgirls at all. :P

Anvil bruises! LOL

Just to confirm, I did a recky & the Showgirls lasses looked better in the tops & also without....LOL
