Hi All..I have started taking training/eating seriously for body building.

One problem thats holding me back is Ritalin..

I take this for a serious car accident i was in 10yrs ago...it helps me with tiredness...Only downside while taking it,is that its soooo hard to put on weight...I find,no matter how often im eating....i still only raise my weight in small qauntaties...has anybody else had this problem..if so how have they dealt with it?

Any advice is much appreciated

:pfft:

See Food Diet?

Don't know when you take your dose(s), but I read somewhere to try taking the tablets after meals if weight loss is an undesirable side effect. "Some people find that waiting until after breakfast to give Ritalin may help with loss of appetite and/or weight loss." You might've already tried that?

You could talk to your doc re other meds that don't have this side effect?

Hi Rose

I normally take when im feeling tired/fatigue..which is normally around lunchtime....late afternoon.Depending on how much i have on at the time,Tells me how much i need..

I have spoken to my GP about this, quickly though,as i was late..and he mentioned that it would be near on impossible to GAIN weight as normally peoples weight either fluctuates or losses completely..And i would have trouble...

So i have since decreased my amounts...taking some before training only.

Hope this improves...Im still keen from others though regarding this....Its not THAT rare..

Hey bro

Talk to your GP about changing to Adderall. It is widely reported to increase alertness, libido, concentration and overall cognitive performance, and in general, improving mood, while decreasing user fatigue. It is available in two formulations: IR (Instant Release) and XR (eXtended Release). Might be helpful

That would be good but unfortunately I don't think adderall is scheduled for use under pharmac so even if you could get it it might be really expensive.

atomoxetine is another option its a noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor.

Dexamphetamine is the amphetamine preparation used in NZ.
