NABBA North Harbour Championships

This was the first BB comp I ever attended. I have to say was pretty impressed with all of the competitors - it can't be easy standing up there under those all those lights.

Pseudonym, Dubble_D - looked to me like the hard work paid off, you both looked sharp. Congrats for just making it up there !!!

Dumb question - is the night session ("Finals") just a 'show' and handing out prizes, or could there be a decision made by the judges between winner and runner up based on what happens tonight??

Thanks

Big thanks to Optimass for the pics! cheers mate.

Hats off to Craig Smith who won my Class (open Athletic) and the Overall athletic, he looked wicked, no real weak points from what I could see, great upper lower balance.

So did the Novice Athletic Tall guy in the green, shame he didn't stay to contest the overalls as he was definately right on the money, infact that was a really strong class with the top 3 (incl. Pseudo I think, all being in good shape).

Cheers to the open athletic guys, Greg, good to catch up again mate, and great to see Warwick in great shape too.

Thought Mateo looked amazing, he seems to just keep getting better and better, it will be really interesting between him and Stan next season!

The crowd was one of the best I have heard and that makes a big difference when you are up there, especially for the first timers! A good day all round, especially when news came through that big D had got his Pro Card across at the NZIFFB Nationals: 20 years hard work realized!

Thanks for the pics, Optimass. You even managed to avoid the worst of my facials, too! :P

I've got to hand it to NABBA - it was a good competition. Fantastic venue backstage for the athletes, with loads of space and mirrors for tanning up. I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough seats for the audience (they had a big extension on the stage which significantly reduced seating room) but actually it seemed to work out perfectly. The auditorium was full, but not over-crowded.

They award nice medals in NABBA, too. Suitably heavy and solid, they feel like something that's worth winning. Good stuff, NABBA.

Special thanks has to go to HumanPerformance for working a small miracle in just 6 weeks. I can't recommend him highly enough. Particularly if you like lettuce - and I mean REALLY like lettuce. :pfft:

Well done man, come in looking really sharp. Where are these pasty fat white legs you speak of? Cuts all over the place man.

Welldone to Greg who took the time to go out and show one of the teens how to pose after the first round. Young fella would have placed had he been shown the basics ... good sportsmanship mate. (Greg pictured below)

Cheers man, ah, love the sport and happy to help where I can! Look forward to catching up again next year!

Well done Pseudonym. I was one of the judges and there was a very competitive line up of athletic lads on the day.

Great to see you up with there... good physique and potential to go far. See you again next year??!!
