Early morning pre workout carbs?

Hi, I've tryed searching the forum but couldn't find much to answer what I'm sure is a simple question......

As I am working out early in the morning (bloody early for me as I'm totally NOT a morning person) I find it hard to get enough food into me before a workout. i don't think I can get up much earlier than I already am doing in order to eat more so I'm wondering if I should be planning to get most of my pre workout carbs the night before and just top it up with a banana and protein shake 30 mins before hitting the weights. I can keep down that much at least.

Its not too bad right now as I've just started lifting again so not pushing extreme, but I know this lack of carbs/food will start effecting me in a few weeks when I start going for bigger lifts.

At the end of the day, there is no right and wrong answer, everybody reacts differently to early morning workouts. You could always throw a protein smoothie together and drink that as you train especially on heavy lifting days. Perhaps some of the big boys can answer from experience.
