carb back-loading article

Recommended Posts

off elitefts, very good reading.

very interesting article. in basic terms, having all your daily carbs in your postworkout 'window'. so youd stick with protein and fat for your a.m meals, and peel back all your carbs postworkout.

this shares some ideals with intermittent fasting, which also fascinates me. The aspect of both that appeals to me is that ppl who are not very carb sensitive, such as fatties/ ex fatties, can benefit from this type of approach.

any nzbbers ever done anything comparable to this?

Yah the intermittent fasting thing is very interesting. I've started to concentrate my calories around my workouts because of this but I still haven't committed to a real fasting diet.

In all my diets I've always tried to control my carbs. Now days

I only have carbs in the morning and after training. Besides that its just meat, veg. Next step would be to take the carbs outta my breakkie. As much as I hate that idea.

Mind blowing, something I have to try.

I didn't call it carb back-loading, but yeah, I dieted for a comp using a similar theory to this. It worked amazingly well then. I've since tried applying the same principles to a few summer cuts, and haven't seen such good results, although perhaps I wasn't following it quite as strictly.

If you want more details, check out my competition journal. Highlights included jam on buttered toast every night before bed and no cardio until two weeks out. It was tough going.

bro, this is EXACTLY my standpoint! ive been taking carbs out of meals 2+3, and putting them pmo, but im going to pick up my balls and drop my beloved breakfast oats.

Im very keen on trying IF, theres only 2 things holding me back:

1 im making good gains atm, so dont wanna risk messing with it.

2 backloading is a good 1st step, but i get hungry between meals now, itd be a BIG adjustment.
