Lurker now messager

Hi all, I've always been a lurker on these boards but thought it was time to come out of the woodwork, largely to seek some advice from so many knowledge members and hopefully to share some tips too

I'm 23 years old and in my first year of work after 5 years at Uni (law). I've been through the classic unhealthy Uni years (I put on 10kg - on a 5ft0 frame it was NOT a good look) then got my act together and ran my first full marathon last year. Now I'm enjoying this new world of weight training and really trying to start sculpting my body - with mixed results.

Looking forward to getting to know some people on here - I find it hard to talk about my fitness goals with my friends and flatmates because they don't really understand - especially my girlfriends who are the classic "walk on the treadmill reading a womens weekly" types :)

Nah my friends are supportive of course - you can't get through the emotional roller coaster of marathon training without your family and friends and they were the ones there on the day holding out my drink bottle/bananas (thank you for your congrats by the way!)

But trying to strike up a convo about the benefits of whey protein and interval training isn't really an option so it's great to chat with gals (and guys) who "get it"

You'll certainly find plenty of like minded people here to discuss with, welcome :D

Great work on the marathon. If you've got the dedication to train for that then I'm sure you'll be right at home in the world of body sculpting.
