Finding the right PT for competing bikini class

Peachy

Recommended Posts

OK so next year Im moving to aucks and am thinking about training to compete in a bikini class. Its kinda scary thinking bout it coz up until this point I have only ever trained for my own personal enjoyment/vanity haha.

Anyways I would have no idea where to start and really want a personal trainer who has experience in this and can coach me the whole way. Which brings me to my next question.

Where do you find them!!?? :-s

All the personal trainers I've had in my town have had no experience in that sorta thing. Where do would I look for a trainer that would have the knowledge and experience for the biokini class??

There are probably soo many threads that have asked this question but I'm too lazy to look 8)

I know of a trainer in Auckland, Les Mills I think, Teneka Hindman, she has competed in figure off and on for many years. There are plenty of others perhaps ask at the reception desks of any gym you're interested in, the staff will know who of their PT's have that experience.

Thanks guys for your help and yay thanks Pman! Well I think I'd be ok with organising the bikini/makeup part coz I have experience there with my dance background. Its just all the training and diet and timing of the diet etc etc. I'd hate to be one of those competitors that just had no idea and tried to go it alone and it was so obvious haha.

Excellent ok now I just need a sponsor for a boob job.... :pfft:

I will need to inspect them beforehand, the sonner the better, it will include a touch and taste test.

Then once they are jobed I will carry out the same test to compare before and after.

The test will take about an hour and will be quite in depth. I will need to take comparative photos/video before and after.

I will be able to contribute some money to the op.

This offer goes to any other hot chicks who want an expert opinion on the condition of their boobies

\:D/

P.S. Peachy I have seen your photos and my expert opinion is that your boobies need my attention ASAP!!!

Hi Peachy,

I've dialed in heaps of competitors for different classes from amateurs to pros. What show are you thinking of doing? You need to be 20% BF at 12 weeks out.

I would disagree with that, and also who is doing the BF test, every trainer has a different technique.

You need to be 20% BF at 12 weeks out.

Are you serious????? That's a very broad statement considering every person is different.

every person may be different but you need your physique/figure to be at a certain standard/ level to be competitive and have a chance of winning. So as a guide 20% at 12 weeks gives enough time to be contest ready without having to go nuts on the cardio.

There's a lot of competitors who are getting on stage that could benefit from a few extra weeks preparation.

All the different women's classes drag out bodybuilding shows way too long and i personally believe that you should have to reach a certain level of % body fat for each class, before you're allowed to walk on. Measure the % at the same time as the weigh in.

Yes competing is a personal achievement but anyone can lose 10kgs slap on some fake tan, get on stage and

compete
but are they really competitive?

I can understand where you were trying to come from but throwing random figures out there isn't the way to go considering Peachy is looking at doing Bikini Class. BF% isn't a huge concern as much as there shape and stag presence.

Only problem with this is by in large caliper testing results can vary depending on who is doing them. Also 15% on one girl may not look as tight as 15% on another, it all depends on how and where they are carry it.

Im Hungry, not trying to shoot down your opinions just don't agree with giving people hard numbers on when they should compete

Hey Peachy.

there are lots of good trainers in Auck, but id suggest Jo Stewart, she is the most experienced BBer in NZ and has great knowledge with stage presentation and everything from start to finish.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've read that for the NABBA comps you need to do a dance?? I'm sweet as with that with my dance background but obviously want to make sure I'm on the right track with style and choreography etc. Does Jo do this aswell?? i really just wana see some examples...
