The criteria has been relaxed to allow everybody in, the marketing unfortunately gave too firm a message and we still had plenty of members quite capable of training there perhaps scared off by the perception. Everybodys welcome, the standing calf raises are still to be put up, they are custom made wall mounted versions.

Tom you always trained in the middle of the day, do you have a job?

Space issue is being addressed, all good big things take time.

The boxing gym is opening soon too, another something very special and the coolest part is that the traffic driving past will be able to see everyone smashing it up and sweating it out.

So in your opinion are the guys who are struggling to bench one plate per side and the girls who come down and do their circuit type training capable of training in there?

Alot of the guys who train in there dont even know how to use the equipment.

I can't say I've seen a lot of circuit training in there, not to say they aren't but it would be minimal. I guess I could say that it is an ongoing work in progress and all feedback both positive and negative is valued and listened too.

I don't get to see everyone who trains in there so will take your word on it, other than to say-

I'm now benching a plate and a 1.125 per side.

Here goes :)

Would like to start of in saying that Harbour Fitness has done a great job in promoting it as an excellent and competitive new option in Auckland. I hope they continue to progress and strive for the goal of perfecting the already impressive 'gyming experience'.

A definite positive is the atmosphere of the gym, both friendly members and staff and many PT's happy to help the inexperienced gym goer when needed. As well as many of them seeming to have in depth knowledge and experience in many training strategies/exercises.

To help in the strive to create Harbour Fitness as 'the' gym to train at I would like to express the ever growing problem which is not only starting to effect my daily training but many many others. The size of the gym and the membership ratio. :?

-Just wondering wether anyone could give us a exact date when the 'new', extra floor of Harbour Fitness Queen st will be opening? :-s As the membership numbers have exceeded the capacity of the gym (IMHO). I wonder wether Harbour Fitness is still allowing additional memberships as it is getting ridiculous, especially as the 'winter excess' of many are drawing them to the gym

-Will extra equipment be installed in the current level to accommodate the rapidly increasing membership numbers? Many of us have to wait an extensive amount of time for equipment to free up and it is almost impossible to plan a workout in advance as the equipment is always in use.

Overall I would give Harbour Fitness Queens Street branch a 3.5/5.

It could easily be 5/5 if the space issue is addressed and fast...
