PRO FORMANCE

PHYSIQUE & FIGURE CNI BODYBUILDING CHAMPS

25TH SEPTEMBER 2010, OTUMOETAI COLLEGE, WINDSOR ROAD, TAURANGA

SUPPORTING BREAST CANCER SUPPORT SERVICES TAURANGA TRUST

The “Pro Formance Physique & Figure CNI Bodybuilding Champs” is an independent show being organised by Darrel Schumaker and Kaye O’Neill, who have been organising successful contests in Tauranga since 2007. This show is not a qualifier for any National event in New Zealand but we have been given the opportunity through the IFBB South Pacific/Oceania Region to be a qualifier for the newly introduced Country of Origin Competition held in Sydney, Australia on 23/24 October 2010. We will be selecting athletes from our contest to represent New Zealand at this event.

This year we have aligned ourselves with Breast Cancer Support Services Tauranga Trust with a percentage of our door takings and entry fees given to this worthy charity. Our association with this charity is due to Kaye’s involvement (Miss June 2010) in a calendar fund raiser in 2009 and we wanted to continue our support.

Another draw card has been the confirmation of “Big Kiwi” Justin Rys, a former Mr New Zealand appearing at this event. Justin will be at Macy’s Motor Inn Conference Room from 3pm Friday 24th September through until end of registration. He will also be doing an arm training session at Bay Bodyfit, 36A McDonald Street, Mt Maunganui on Saturday from 2.30pm. During the training session Justin will go through his paces and between sets involve himself with the spectators, answering questions and providing training tips. Although you won’t get to personally train with Justin, this will be a great couple of hardcore, informative hours.

Registration and weigh-in: Friday 24th September, 5pm to 7.30pm at Macy’s Motor Inn, Cnr 11th Ave & Edgecombe Rd, Tauranga and Saturday 25th September from 8am to 9.30am at Otumoetai College (the venue).

Entry fee - $50.00 includes contest Tee-shirt, gym bag & promotional products (payable at registration and weigh-in – cash only)

Entry forms will be available at Registration and weigh-in. To ensure you receive your shirt, bag and products please pre-register by emailing Kaye at k-on@xtra.co.nz or phone Darrel 021 998227) with your contact details, including class and tee-shirt size.

South Island & Pro Formance Tauranga BB Championships Report:

Hi Everyone & Bodybuilding Followers.

On the 25th September 2010, The South Island BB Championship Promoted by Mike Debenham & The Po Formance CNI BB Championship in Tauranga Promote by Kaye O’Neill & Daryl Schumaker were held on the same weekend.

Both Championships were attended & contested by over 120 Competitors.

Both Events were sold out at the Finals with both Prejudging three quarter full.

Well done to Mike, Kaye & Daryl.

I had the privilege to judge at the Tauranga Event & it was great to see so many Competitors, Sponsors & Audiences supporting & getting behind Kaye & Daryl.

Based on the feedback I have, the South Island was also the same. It shows that when you have fantastic Promoters promoting BB events, to give & treat Athletes, Sponsors & the General Public what they deserve & with respect, they will show up in force.

I had a bit of time to speak to some Athletes, Sponsors & Audiences and they were all overwhelmed with Kaye & Daryl’s event.

I will now have some work cut out to repeat what these great Promoters did with their events.

South Island & Tauranga event gave out some fantastic prizes including athletes selected for trips to Australia.

I personally would like first & foremost thank Mike, Kaye & Daryl for their hard work, dedication & promoting such fantastic & most enjoyable BB Events to be associated with.

I would like to thank all the Athletes for getting behind, competed & in supporting these great Bodybuilding Event Promoters.

To all the Sponsors that help these three Promoters to host such unique BB Events, thank you all for your kindness & your sponsorships.

To the Audiences, what a great turnout to both Events. Thank you all for your support not only to your family & friends that competed but your show of appreciation to the Promoters & Sponsors.

Note!!

We will look forward the Harbour Fitness BB Event in Auckland 9th October at the Auckland Girls Grammar.

There will be more great prizes & trips on offer for the Athletes to Aussie.

Take care & wishing you all the very best.

Mark Stewart

Auckland Event Promoter.

The show was the best show I have ever been involved with organization wise Darryl and Kaye did such an amazing job. The show got back to what this sport is really about the competitors and the audience supporting them. I cannot wait to come back again just to support the show !!! :)

Great shots, a very lucky audience to see you get into such condition. No sign of the pec injury, and your quad sweep looks to have noticably come out a bit since last time you were onstage,

although I think that wasn't long after a knee injury if I remember?

Good stuff.

The first Pro Formance Physique & Figure Champions in Tauranga was a great success. The sponsors provided a large number of give aways to the athletes including bags, teeshirts, products and discount vouchers.

With 62 competitors (mostly women) the show ran smoothly, giving enough time for Justin to go through an arm training session at Bay Bodyfit. Those who attended felt it was well worth while and Justin was very informative.

With our involvement with Breast Cancer Support Services Tauranga Trust, the night show started with Carol Robson having her head shaved. She had raised $1,035 through facebook and other donations. The crowd added another $540 while she was getting her head shaved and the promoters Darrel and Kaye from Pro Formance Training & Nutrition donated $1,900 from the door takings and entry fees – a total of $3,475. Julie Blake from the Breast Cancer Support Services Tauranga Trust was very impressed with the professionalism of the show and the contributions given.

We would like to thank Lee-Anne Wann for the great job she did MC’ing the show and Justin Rys for his involvement over the entire weekend. Thanks also needs to go to the backstage helpers, scrutineers, judges, sponsors and of course the athletes themselves. We have already started planning for next year.
