Sorry!

This site is in read-only mode right now. You can browse all our old topics (and there's a lot of them) but you won't be able to add to them.

Why is this board so dead?

i though a NZ bbing forum would be a real hit. There are quite a few of us but seems like noone knows about the forum. Is anything being done to promote the site. I can see the site evolving into a valuble source of bb information. Just need more peeps.

Hi Growth.

Things are quiet here right now, but not for much longer! Just before Christmas, we announced our band of lovely sponsors (http://www.nzbb.co.nz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=99), and now we're in the final stages of preparing an ad to send to gyms around the country.

However, word of mouth is still the best form of advertising. And all members can help with this...

Just casually mention NZBB whenever you talk in the gym. See if you can squeeze the subject into every conversation. Chat to your friends about it loudly enough for the whole gym to hear. When our poster appears on your gym notice board, cluster around it like it was the best thing you've ever seen (of course, it will be anyway!)

The more people that visit http://www.nzbb.co.nz the better the resource becomes for us all. Together, let's make this place HUGE!

In the mean time have you thought to maybe make a simple black and white flyer, say 4 flyers on a single a4 sheet that you can cut up. That way you and other board members like myself could print it out on our local pcs and distribute them in our local gym carparks, supermarket carparks, mailboxes etc. Seems to me like a good method to get good nationwide distribution at no cast to the board.

Our three sponsors (Horleys, LeppinSport, and SupplementsOnline) are each contributing towards the cost of the advertising campaign. This consists of 400 posters sent to gyms throughout the country, and something else very mysterious which will be revealed shortly.

For their support, the sponsors will receive advertising space on the forum, the poster, and this other thing. (Curious yet?!) :pfft:

I was at the printers today, getting a draft of the poster, so hopefully they'll be ready by the end of the week. Horleys and Leppin have kindly offered to distribute them for us, so you should see them turning up in the gyms from early Feb.

As for offering special deals for members of this site, that's up to each sponsor - but I'll certainly suggest it to them.

Ta muchly, Growth.

Just be selective in the areas you target - we want to spread the word as far as possible, but there's no point in spamming those who aren't interested. eg: gym carparks are a great idea (except in this current wet weather... :P), but I don't think mass mailbox drops would be worth your time.

Thanks for the help... it's much appreciated.

this board seems to be coming to life now not really "dead" anymore. i can check regularly and find new and interesting posts.

Also the number of members who have been active on the board in the last 24 hours is now constantly high.

Well done on your board Pseudonym

While we're back-patting, I'd just like to say how pleased I am with the high quality of members we've attracted.

We've got a good mix of people from seasoned competitors to absolute newbies, but you're all very well-behaved, and polite to each other. You explain your posts well - reasoning your answers, rather than giving blanket statements... And of course, the new members all adopt the same attitude... So thankyou.

And we're only going to grow bigger and better!
