Ok so yesterday did squats for the first time (i usually use leg press or leg extension) and now my glutes are INCREDIBLY sore haha. This is normal to start with or did i possibly mess up technique wise and have wrong muscles compensating??

Also i lifted 50kg of plates + whatever the bar weighs(?) ...is this decent considering im 70kg and only been training for a month now??

That's normal to have sore glutes after training legs since you are just new to training your body and your muscles will get to use.For when I have sore glutes I like to call it feeling the burn in my ass :P .

If you've not done squats before, then you will definitely have worked muscles differently to the leg press (leg extension tends to work the 'teardrop' just above kneecap, not outer quads/glutes).

Most gyms, the bar's 20kg (also known as Olympic bar, with thick sleeves on the ends), so that's bodyweight squatting... not a bad place to start. KUTGW :clap:
