Gidday everyone.

Im new, you know that so lets not stuff around!

Names Sam, born in Nelson, 18 years old (about to be 19) love everything about training and fitness. I am a very down to earth guy with big aspirations (<< did i spell it right?). Currently working in a Powder Coating factory to try and save some money for when I go up to Wellington to either join the Police or to study for a Diploma in Exercise Prescription at NZIS.

Main goal for me is to gain lean muscle and lower my BF%. I'm a big fan of rugby, both league and union. Also played 4 years of school grade volleyball but have given it up to focus on other things. Have played representative rugby union my entire life and been on 2 trips over to Aussie to play in competitions over there.

Stats about me at the moment:

Height: 184CM

Weight: 92KG

BF%: Approx 14%

Very new to the whole online BBing community so please make me feel welcome! Will answer any questions and will do my best to stay active and help out throughout the forums :D Cheers everyone!

P.S I am currently looking for a motivational/informative/good/awesome/enjoyable book about anything to do with athleticism/weight training/success story's or even a biography of some sort to read so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Something like Lance Armstrongs book.

By the way I like to use forward slashes /

:D

Hey and welcome. If your in Nelson you should say G'day to Mark Anderson, he's a fountain of information and nice guy to boot.

Yeah I'd love to but he doesn't show up much to the gym that I attend and to be honest, he comes across as a bit of a snob

Hey Sam, good to have you here. You've got Arnold as your avatar, so why not grab one of his books?~

Yeah I've thought about getting one of his books, but to be honest he didn't seem like the most intelligent guy out there. Plus he was all about bodybuilding and I would like something with a bit of maybe rugby or something involved. I was thinking something like an old All Blacks biography.

Also, what does tilde even mean haha?

Haha...hardly, be one of the nicer guys I have met in the sport (without igniting the "what we call it" topic again).

Welcome SamuelNZ...

If you're interested, try 'Heroes, Villains and Velodromes' by Richard Moore, about Chris Hoy, trackie extraordinaire.

Ah, the tilde, the cinderella of punctuation :) Hell, even the long-overlooked diaereis is more popular :pfft:

I'm picking you've read that book then? What did you think of it? I'll have to check out my local library and see what they stock.

Also, has anyone read any books like Josh Kronfelds?

Right now I dont I am looking for work here havent got a job as of yet. The places that I looked at were pretty expensive one in nelson was like $2,400 a month. Dont know if its just because im use to the States wher you can join for like $40 to 60 bucks instead of the cheapest I have found was $140 so far of the 3 gysm I found. Ive gone to one by my flat in Richmond, think one in stoke and 2 in nelson the fancy one and I think the other was riverside.

Whats up bud . New to this whole online bb thing aswell. You state you were after a good bodybuilding book to say the least ,I would have to recommend Arnold Schwarzenegger's The new encyclopedia of modern bodybuiding . It's got everthing from goals to nutrition and diet to competition posing.
