NEWS FLASH

DUE TO THE MANY ONGOING DISRUPTIONS AND POOR MANAGEMENT OF THE NZFBB I HAVE CUT ALL TIES WITH THE NZFBB AND AM NOW RUNNING THE SOUTH ISLAND SHOW UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF IFBB AUSTRALASIA SOUTH PACIFIC.

THIS WILL MEAN THE SOUTH ISLAND EVENT IS NOW A QUALIFIER FOR THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONALS WHICH WILL INCLUDE AN "AUSTRALASIAN COUNTRY OF ORIGIN" CLASS.

THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONALS WILL BE HELD IN SYDNEY ON THE 23RD AND 24TH OF OCTOBER.

THIS DECISION HAS NOT COME LIGHTLY BUT HAS BEEN BOUGHT ON OVER TIME WITH MANY OF THE INCIDENCE THAT CURRENTLY PLAGE THE NZFBB

THESE INCIDENCE INCLUDE POOR TREATING OF MANY OF THE PAST NZFBB JUDGES, OFFICIALS, AND EVENT ORGANIZERS.

THE CONSTANT RULE CHANGES ON THE DAY OF EVENTS.

MAKING WOMEN BE SPRAY TANNED IN VEIW OF PUBLIC BY THE MALE EVENT ORGANIZER.

CHANGING OF DATES OF THE NZFBB NATIONALS AT LATE NOTICE.

INCLUSION OF JUDGES WHOM HAVE NOT ATTENDED OR PASSED ANY JUDGING TRAINING OR TESTING BUT WHOM ARE ASSOCIATES OF THE CURRENT NZFBB LEADERSHIP AND WHOM HAVE ALREADY BENEFITED FROM RULE CHANGES IMPLEMENTED BY THE CURRENT LEADERSHIP WITHOUT CONSULTATION.

THE COMPLETE BREAKDOWN OF ANY CONSTITUTION OF THE NZFBB AND THE DISSOLVEMENT OF ANY GOVERNING COMMITTEE TO INSURE IN THE DEALINGS WITH THE NZFBB AND ITS MEMBER AND DECISIONS MADE ARE FULLY TRANSPARENT.

DISSATISFACTION AMONGST ATHLETES THAT THERE EFFORTS WILL BE REWARDED AND RECOGNIZED BY BEING SHOWEN RESPECT WITH WELL RUN AND APPROPRIATE SHOWS.

I LOOK FORWARD TO RUNNING A GREAT SHOW ONCE AGAIN IN THE SOUTH ISLAND THAT WIL THEN GIVE QUALIFIED ATHLETES TO GO ON AND BE JUDGES IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS FAIR AND JUST

And I'm trying to find a website showing photos of last year's IFBB Australian Nationals.

They are not very good at keeping there website up to date so you will not find any pixs to do with IFBB AUS

Good move on your part Mike. There is only so much that people can tolerate from a heirachy that continues to move the goal posts & make rule changes without any consideration of how it will effect those athletes that are working towards a competition. Although your move may be seen to be further fragmenting our community, I expect it will benefit athletes in the long run. Good luck with your show.

I think this is the official web site for the Aussie IFBB. This is a link to the 2010 comps where the NSW and National Champs are set down for 23 and 24 Oct. I have not found any info regarding venue etc but no doubt Mike D will flush this out for us and keep everyone informed.

I would really like to support your show.

But I have admit that I`ve had my heart set on competing at the NZFBB nationals for over a year now.

How does competing in your show affect an athlete's membership with the NZFBB?

I really do feel for athletes like yourself. my decision was made after consultation with MANY of the experienced athletes EX judges and Coaches around the South Island, they where all in part supportive of this move. I know it will not sit well with some, but after my experiences of last yrs. nationals and some of the things that have happened at regional shows since i feel 100% comfortable with what i have decided.

My show will not be a qualifier for the NZFBB nationals. What stand the NZFBB take on this for the South Island athletes is out of my hands. Im unsure if they will put another show on and im unsure if they will assisted south island athletes in getting to the nationals. this would need to be discussed with the NZFBB by athletes interested.

At this point I have 2 ex NZFBB Judges that have expressed interest in judging my show and are extremely well known in our sport. Leanne Roulson also supports my move and will be judging, so at this stage this along with some Australian options and a number of EX NZFBB Judges that were cut from judging with no explanation we will have a full and experienced judging panel.

I am waiting on more information which should be available soon. The NSW regional is run on the same weekend sat the nationals so i am waiting to find out it one day is NSW and one Nationals. With a country the size of Aust it is possible the Nationals is a 2 day event, as we have had in the past. i will keep you posted as soon as i have received word.

good work mike, finally someone with the cahunas to stand up to the present hierachy. In answer to a previous post regarding the NZFBB Nats, why would you want to stand up there and be judged by people who do not have the credentials to judge? I am disgusted that many of our best judges have been given the axe for no reason other than they refuse to be bought or corrupt.

i will be in your show Mr D, and i suspect many others will as well.

Thanks snapper the support has been awesome and i think the 25th will be a great day of NZ bodybuilding with Kaye's CNI in Tauranga looking after the north islander

Hi, when an athelete registers for this show I take it they become a member of the Australian IFBB, not the NZFBB?

I am still working on the finer details. this has all happened rather quickly and i generally like to have all the details sorted before i go to air but with the show looming i needed to act fast and make as much info as i could available to the athletes and public. So as soon as info comes my way ill let people know. I still have a membership fee on the registration form. If in the end that is not needed to go towards a membership with the Aust IFBB my first thoughts is to put ALL of that money towards selected athletes travel to the Aust Nationals. BUT as i have said im still waiting on info on the finer details.

Further Information for the Country of Origin in Australia

The name of the contest is Country of Origin which allows people to compete for their country of origin (birthplace) even if they are not living in that country.

The venue of the comp is South Sydney Junior Leagues Club Anzac Pde Kingsford NSW.

We athletes traveling top Australia will need to pay A$50 which will cover their contest entry and membership (there will be NO membership required for the South Island Show)

The contest will be open to winners and place getters!

There will be invitations to other South Pacific countries to send athletes as well.

The show will also offer the opportunity for the athletes to meet Phil Heath and get photos with him and to see the Australian National Championships which is always a great weekend.

As this is a first time for this concept, we feel sure that there will be decisions needing to be made as we get closer to the show but it should be great for the athletes.
