Posing, Old School or Wrong Skill ??

Recommended Posts

hi ppl!

i was looking thro some of the bb web sites nz has to offa.

Not dissing anybody or any bodys posing at all!!!

as i under stand its what the judging system is asking for.

But you think the poses are better than the old school ones?

i dont(only my opinion)

the side on poses like side chest, seems more of a twisted most musclur?

the way you have to hold your leggs when you do a front bicep ?more of a froggie ,elbos up poss.

i can remember years ago after coming off stage, one of the taranaki camp guys shaking my hand, but then saying i needed to work on my possing.

he couldnt under stand my resion for possing old school ways.

i did take a risk,it did pay off,i think i won because of possing this way as well as MAYBE been in better shape than the others? who knows tho?

i gess this may of been covered before?

what do you ppl think???

without been down marked for it would you rather do old school or the more moden posing!

ONLY ASKING NOT TELLING

thx

i get what your saying more so in the symetry rounds

in the old days a relaxed pose looked relaxed even though they were tensing every muscle in there body unlike today shoulders up arms out wide legs slightly bent and out i think the quter turns you see today you would not of got away with yesterday .

and iget what your saying about the side chest its more of a side front chest now.

i think the posing today is good its just like any sport they all progress over time and change

Is it possible posing has evolved (or degenerated depending on you POV) to suit the physiques on display?

Back in the day, (well before my time  ), the vacuum was often used when showing front on. I realise this phased out in the 80's but many Pros of the late 90's early 2000's probably wouldn't have even been able to vacuum with their distended bellies! (On a positive note its great to see the big bellies seem to have been reigned in over the last few years).

The 'elegant' routines of yester year also disapeared for a while, although I see a few bringing this artform back. IMHO it looks so much better than the likes of Dillett lumbering around stage like Barney the Dinosaur!

thxs for your input guys!

yes ,the flowing art, with hits of contractions and poses that showed narrow wasts and wide shoulders i think have been lost along with deep cuts for vains and pumps.

dont get me wrong, theres some monsters out there that still pose great, youtubes great to catch up on whats out there.

and i gather each fed has its own set of poses,

maybe i am stuck in the 70s still!
