Had a guy who placed 2nd in uk or something a few years back he run a comp for us at a mates 21st showed me some technique was fucken awesome havent lost a left arm battle since lol however had a go at a brute of a mate friday week ago and have slightly tore something in the bicep :naughty: not good....

Check out the AussieStrength forum - a couple of dedicated arm wrestlers there that train for it, at least one of them is a kiwi.

Watching Magnus Samuelson break Nathan 'Mega Man" Jones' humerus (spiral fracture) in WSM was enough to put me off arm wrestling!

tru bro, did you beat that guy when you tore your bicep, im more of the right hand arm wrestler and havent been beaten yet but would like to go against sum1 that has technique where as the ones i have arm wrestled just use strength and dont have know idea

yeah I got him both left and right but it certainly is going to cost my training in the gym for at least this week its only a slight tear by the feel but definitely gonna need a quiet week f*ck it...

i would stare very clear of arm wrestling unless you train specifically for it, i myself and many others i know have broken bones, torn ligaments and buggered joints because of it

uiv hit 20" b4 but now they only 18", be good to generate that power once youve got the technique sussed out aye bro.

I might be able to help and share some knowledge around arm wrestling. I am a former pro(yes Pro cause igot paid to do it) arm wrestler where i did the trade in South Africa. My cousin who the SA champion back in the late 90's tought me well an i became heavily involved. we did shows all over the country back then.

I can assure you while having big arms and alot of strenght might be a benefit, if you have not got any tecnique you are screwed. Trust me when i say that no amount of power will win you a match against some1 who has excellent tecnique. I have seen many big and mighty men fall and loose against some of their skinnier counter parts.

Anyway, if anyone is interested im happy to share. I must say im quite fond of arm wrestling. Promoted right in NZ it could be a good little money on the side earner if proper comp's are held with some sponsers. Thats how we did it back in SA.

I got quite far With it. But it does take a toll on your elbow joints i can tell you that. At some point i got paid to do it, so hopefully it gives you an idea.

I got a power twister 60 kg model - jeeze its killer. But its a bit too hard and bites my elbow tendons & bicep insertions.

There is a chinese shop in new lynn that sells them at different spring torsions, they advertise on trademe.

Get your self the John Brookfeild grip books - also getstrength.com in onehunga have grip equipment.
