NZFBB Nationals Date Change

Recommended Posts

Hopefully some confirmation gets put up on websites to confirm, such as nzfbb website and go figure etc. I believe waikato show is now 9th oct instead of 2nd.

Just as a competitor we should know all these things as soon as possible. Also I have planned on doing this show since 08 when I last competed and have already mentally prepared for the extra dieting. Whats most frustrating is I booked my air fares for my wife and I last week and have consequently had to change the booking and pay the extra $100 cancellation fee.

Just didnt want any other competitor to have too be in the same boat and have to change time off, babysitters , flights etc etc as I have done.

I take it that means the COROMANDEL CLASSIC has changed dates as well?

Sorry to here that fella, if I remember correctly this happened last year as well to alot of people with a last minute change.

I also sympathise with those people who booked flights and leave for the original Nationals date - I know a few people who booked flights back in March for Oct 9. It seems the Waikato (now Oct 9) and Coromandel (Oct 19 apparently, but that's a Tuesday!) dates have also changed.

Regarding the nzfbb website - I have been maintaining it since Feb last year, but I had the db/file server access taken away from me 3 months ago. I can still update text on the site, and have posted event information for the Masterton and Wellington shows, plus a link to photos/results from the Auckland Champs. I've had no official info from the NZFBB Exec for about 6 months now, so they clearly don't want me to maintain the site - even though none of the current Exec want to maintain it.

I have no idea if a date for the AGM has been set - but time is running out for official notification as constitutionally it has to be held by the end of August.

Following a meeting held in Sydney on Monday 19 April 2010, attended by Moe Elmoussawi, Mark Stewart, Paul and Carole Graham and Grahame Fong, and subsequent discussions, the following matters were agreed:

1. The AGM will now be brought forward from August and will be held in Auckland no later than the 30 June 2010.

2. As the AGM has been brought forward the proposed informal meeting and the Special General Meeting formally sought by some members are both now redundant and will be dispensed with.

3. Elections for all NZFBB offices will be held as part of the AGM. ALL NZFBB members may stand for any elected position(s).

4. Grahame Fong will prepare the Notice of AGM and a robust process will be put in place to ensure that all current NZFBB members receive notice of the meeting. Grahame will also prepare the forms for giving notice for motions for the AGM and the nomination forms.

5. Proper procedures will be in place for voting for the elections and all motions tabled at the meeting for which proper notice has been given. Grahame will formulate the procedures, which will be announced at a later date.

6. All parties will respect the election results and resolutions adopted at the AGM.

7. A number of other disputes and issues have been addressed and agreement reached. The principal parties to the current disputes/issues, namely Moe Elmoussawi and Mark Stewart have agreed to a truce and no current or new disputes will be debated in public pending the AGM. Each of them will encourage their supporters to also respect the truce.

8. The Pan Pacific contest (previously named the South Pacific) will be held on the 8 May 2010. An announcement will be made shortly on two other events planned for between now and the date of the AGM.

Tha AGM should have been held according to the above. Maybe it's already happened and we just haven't been told. What is happening with NZFBB. It's actually becoming a comedy show. How has this date change been advertised? We hear as a rumour from someone on a thread. Wasn't NZFBB given a user name to put announcements on the NZBB site?

Hi there,

So are the registration forms ever going to be available through the website? It's only a couple of months out from the S.I. champs and would really like to get this squared away.
