Deload week

What are the benefits or a deload week ?

Is it always necessary ?

Im asking because i have two days of lifting left before im sposed to have a deload week but have had almost a week off due to the flu and now my body feels refreshed and dont feel like i need a break....

thoughts ?

youve been training long enough to know/recognise the signs that you need a break...havent you? :lol:

seriously though I love some "structure" to my training inluding a deload every 6- 8 weeks or so. The benefits are huge in terms of staying focused reducing injury and meeting goals. In saying that I have learned to read the signs and self regulate to a degree as well and find this equally as beneficial as "sticking to the programme"

In you case...Id go by feel :D
