Stubborn Lateral Triceps

Recommended Posts

for me my lateral tri's are a real weak point and it seems nothing will convince them to grow. In my experience it seems to be a genetics thing as to head size as i know many people with one stand out head that takes dominance over the others.

Anyone in the same boat?

Any recomendations other than reaching for synthol?

Have you tried switching up your training style? Instead of heavy 6-12 reps try slightly lighter with very high reps/ plenty of multiple drop sets.

I've never had to many problems with mine but that could be due to the fact I'm always (every workout) doing something slightly different with my tris.

hey mate, i dunno how often or hard your hitting your tris but i like you have and had trouble developing any decent size in my triceps, the big difference is that i do powerlifting so not looking for rather strength.

In saying that my bench is pretty average and i was only hitting it once a week and then only a couple supplementary exercises throughout the week, i found that when i was told to put more exercises in for triceps to strengthen them up my triceps have gotten alot fuller.

I was told to put close grip decline bench for 4-6reps and superset with cable pressdowns for 8-10, doing 4 sets and i was doing benching twice a week on top of that.

I guess what im getting at is prehaps you need to up the volume on your tris or add another aspect of training them that you havent tried before?

hey mate, yeah i press 3 times a week and this would be my average set up:

Bench:

8-10 sets of (6-10 reps) then 3 supplementary isolation movements maybe totaling 15 sets comprising of heavy skulls, cable and rope pulls.

Shoulders:

4-6 sets of (6-8 reps) of standing barbell then 2-4 sets of (6-10 reps) of seated dumbbell press.

Arms:

6-8 sets of (4- 10reps) Close grip bench

2-3 sets of dips

then 8 sets comprised of cables/skulls.

Too much volume?

try hit bro dorian yates style single set training I switched to this last year after 4 years of volume training had my best gains ever

strength went right up and more weight equals more muscle hypertrophy

try it for a month and if no luck then hit synthol haha
