Hey all

Another newby here new to the sport, really nervous about it but lookn forward to the challenge

Former fat kid nerd who now is now learning not to give too much of a shite about what anyone thinks about my image. I've lost about 15kgs and kept it off for about 7 years but havent really moved since.

Stats

180cm tall

76 kgs

roughly 20% bf

my goal is to finally see my abs and develop more muscle mass. I've never really had muscles or never seen dem abs in my entire life!!!

thanks in advice for all the advice that I'll read from the boards. Its awesome to have so many genuine and knowledgeable people all in one place!

Hi guys & gals.

Thanks for the warm welcome, ya'll are so nice! Gee, I already feel at home.

I havent really set my training split yet, I've had a couple months off from the gym while I was being a total lazy arse (yip I'll admit it) so I'm just going to spend the next 2-3 weeks on full body workouts 5 x per week just to get my muscles moving and in pain again and back to a better place before I start with a training split.

I'll admit my diet is absolutely shocking you wouldnt put your worst enemy through it lol and thats gonna be the biggest challenge for me. I struggle to eat 3 times a day at the moment, and I know i need to eat 5-6 small meals so its just the taking action part. Any ideas on where to start?

Thx again,

Adam

You've allowed 3 weeks to get up to speed in your workouts, so why not take the same approach with diet? Cut out the junk food, and add in an extra meal each week - making sure that you stick to that plan. After 3 weeks, you'll be up to 6 meals.

Oh, and take some Before photos now. You won't regret it when you have the Afters to compare them to. :)

if your gonna be doing full body workouts for now, id do 1 day on 1 day off if i was you so your body can fully recover (well maybe 80 or 90% recover) before going back into it. and stick to solid basic compound exercises untill you decide on a split. good food and good rest.

i wouldn't wanna be like dead lifting, bench pressing or squatting hard out 5 days in a row.

unless you mean like a really light weight/aerobic and cardio fully body workout every day, then that could be good.

but if your hammering any muscle it needs a full days rest before doing it again. even more sometimes. thats the idea of split routines. but yeah just remember your muscles grow out of the gym, not in it. so make sure your giving them enough time to recover. :)
