Our website is now back up & running & being updated with the latest information about our upcoming shows - Top of the South & National Championships. Also our member database is being reconstructed & we hope to be in contact with you all in the next few weeks.

A good number of enquiries are now coming in from athletes looking at competing in the above shows. We urge competitors to get their entry forms in to the respective promoters well in advance of the closing date where possible.

Cheers,

mnz

NABBA Miss Physique

To allow for a broader cross section of female competitors to compete in NABBA Physique Class the weight restriction of 60kg has been lifted from NZ National Competitions. Female competitors in this class should make themselves aware of the requirements of competition in Physique as outlined in the conditions set out on our website & NABBA International. A weight of over 60kg will apply for any athlete that is looking to qualify for International Events.

" The Muscle Tour Must Go On "

Despite events over the last couple of days I wish to advise all competitors & supporters that the NABBA/WFF National Championships will definately be going ahead & that there has been no damage sustained to our venue in Kaiapoi.

We have increasing interest in this show following on from the success of our Top of the South Champs yesterday & Club Physical's show in Auckland with a number of competitors coming down from both of these events.

Just a reminder that we will be qualifying & partially funding up to 4 athletes into either the NABBA Universe on 30th Oct or the WFF Worlds on the 23rd Oct up to NZ$2000 each providing they meet our international standards of competition.

On the countdown now to the final Bodybuilding Show in Christchurch this season. Ticket sales are moving along so it might be a good idea to pre buy your tickets at one of our sales venues - High Performance Health, Les Mills City or Gymeez, as we can only accomodate up to 400 on show day in the auditorium out at Kaiapoi High School. Show starts at midday & should run till around 4.30pm - 5pm depending on final numbers. So "Rock on Down" to Kaiapoi this coming Saturday to experience the best of NZ's NABBA & WFF Athletes running under our great one show format. There is going to be a big tribute to 60yrs of NABBA International at the start, so dont be late :D

The organisation is coming together for another great bodybuilding show in Christchurch. Yes we continue to get minor earthquakes but please don't let this put you off coming out to Kaiapoi High School on Saturday to watch our NABBA & WFF Athletes going through their paces.

We have not said much about the number of athletes that have entered because we do not wish to be seen as self promoting the event on this basis. However, we have got some top NZ competitors from all the Federations attending from throughout NZ. We have 10 athletes alone coming down from Auckland which is a great start for our upcoming debut into Auckland & the North Island in 2011. More about that soon.

Registration is at Gymeez in Manchester Street, Christchurch City at 6pm. Look forward to meeting some of you over the next few days.

Regards,

mnz

Self promote MNZ - I have heard rumour its 140 athletes which is a tremendous show. I haven't competed in a show with that kind of head count since 1997 (although there has probably been a few may be). This is what happens when your fed has its political aspirations balanced in favour of the athletes. you get a show with real competition - not a compulsery trophy service as Outlaw would say. I think the success of Mikes show, inspite of being another fed, has helped to build the profile down there also. I wish Auckland had the same dynamic options in some respects.

Good luck all - well done.

First up, it was great to see so many athletes from Mikes show front up at Kaiapoi. There may have been a couple of guys who wished Steve hadn't turned up but if you have to lose you might as well lose to a guy like that.

Apparently he was 106kg on stage complete with stirated glutes and all. Like last week Steve was impressive as hell and ended up winning the NABBA mens overall.

Last week I was so busy taking pics I felt like I hadn't really seen much of the show so this time I thought I would just sit back and enjoy the show. After a few big boys fronted I couldn't help it and dragged the camera out. Pics to follow.

I paid more attention to Weener Lad this time round :), nice work mate, well deserved overall WFF mens win. Weener (Lee) also won the best male routine.

Im not sure of the exact numbers but it was 60 or just over. If I had a criticism (and this applies to all the shows I have seen this year, and most last year), I would love a program with competitors names in it. As they weigh in the night before I would have thought it wouldn't be to hard to do.

The show started of with a tribute video to 60 years of NABBA history. Audience levels fluctuated at times but it was close to a full house.

Everything seemed to run smoothly enough and the show kicked off about 1215 and was all wrapped by about 5.30.

Another highlight for me was Nuria Novia (ok ok, bit of a softspot of mine :pfft: ), once again she smoked through her fitness routine and she has the shape and conditioning that wouldn't be amiss amongst the figure/physique girls. Nice work Nuria

This was also the first time I had seen Max Stott on stage. I was very impressed and the overall final was between Max, Steve and Nellie. Nellie apparently hadn't competed for four years and came down from Auckland. He was massive with a great shape. If he a touch more conditioning he would have put some real pressure on Steve.

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Nice work MNZ and crew. Look forward to being on stage at your next show in April :)
