OMG - Back at the Gym, muscles very sore!

Hi all,

After some time procrastinating, finally - FINALLY got back to the gym. In alot of pain though, esp. quads! Can barely walk and have to walk sideways down stairs! Gotta love it, the kids think it's hilarious! I do know that it does get better over time, and determined to keep it going - have invested the $$ (gym fees) now have to make time for self! My 'Temple-time'

Aim: Bodyfat loss & overall body tone. PT at the Gym is awesome too, perhaps why I'm abit sore, didn't want to be a slacka

Good on you! I know how that feels - every time I go on holiday for a couple of weeks and come back to the gym I feel like that. Especially if I come back and do something like a pump class and blitz the whole body in one session - ouch!

I know exactly what your saying! I only got back into the gym last year after 7 years break and yup it's tough starting all over again! My mistake was going back expecting or trying to lift the same weights as when i left. Uh no way!! lol what an idiot!

Good on you for getting back into it and yup with focus & determination for results im sure you'll be loving it in no time

Hey thanks for the positive responses - yip, the rush of feel good endorphins had me feeling pretty good all day...though I am still suffering now. Good to know the muscles that are sore are the ones I was working too!

Gosh I wish I could say it's been 2 weeks off training, but I'm afraid it's been alot longer - probably around 3 years! What got in the way? Everything - LIFE... and not learning and changing bad habits.

Entered a corporate bodyfat loss comp 3 years ago and was hooked. Lost 15kgs in 12 weeks, but I did it all wrong. Duromine became the drug of choice, and although I had energy to burn, and the weight fell off - it's not a lifetime solution. Would hate to think what heart damage I may have caused :naughty: Exercise was great, though I cringed away from cardio. Never incorporated the changes in my family life though - still tried to be and do everything - and in the end I lost out.

This time around, kids are old enough to help out - hubby has learnt to cook some basic meals!!! And we're working on a better system to share managing our busy little lives.

I'm looking forward to the Group classes, and have heard good things about Zumba too! Have always wanted to do a Triathlon, so will look further into that as well.

:thankyou:
